• MRC Tuning demonstrates adjustable rpm S-Tronic dual clutch launch control maps for the B8 S4/S5 3.0 TFSI

The ability to tune for both the motor and the transmission is one of the areas that separates truly elite tuners from everyone else. More and more cars are coming with dual clutch transmissions and the ability to interface with the transmission for whatever the needs may be of the owner can have a large performance impact. Here is a good example as MRC shows how they are able to set multiple launch control RPM windows which would be very useful depending on conditions (damp road, drag strip, etc.).

The stock B8 S4/S5 S-Tronic launch control rpm is about 3000. MRC Tuning provides an adjustable window and goes up to 4500 rpm which should definitely result a lower 60 foot at the drag strip and more intense launch providing traction is available. How much further MRC Tuning is able to raise the limit is not stated but they seem to have excellent control over the S-Tronic transmission programming as the video below demonstrates.

I'd still like to know how many launches the gearbox/ clutch can handle, especially now that they're upping the RPM. 4000-4500rpm would be great to launch at.

It's going to shorten the clutch life that's for sure. If there are disc replacement options though no biggie.
