• APR Tuned R8 V10 5.2 6-speed manual goes 10.945@131.77 in the 1/4 mile

      10 second naturally aspirated R8 V10? You bet and what makes it even more impressive is that this is a manual transmission model. The R8 is detuned from the factory to protect the Lamborghini Gallardo's image but since it has the exact same motor an ECU tune unlocks the power and brings up to and beyond the LP-560 Lamborghini. This particular car features an APR ECU tune along with a full GMG race exhaust system.

      It also has some lightweight parts including OZ race wheels on Hoosier R6 tires, carbon fiber hood, carbon fiber rear panel, lightweight battery, lightweight rear and side windows, and the passenger seat removed. So, a couple hundred pounds is likely shaved from the car although an R8 5.2 V10 should still be capable of cracking into the 10's with bolt ons alone.

        Dude, that's much different from auto to 6 speed. I bet the launches are much easier on the R8 though. Congrats on the new car and that beautiful slip!

        Traction may be easier but the launching is harder. Manual with all wheel drive is tough not to bog. You need to get it right and there is less room for error versus an auto.

        After a couple runs you get the hang of it. It's not that hard not to bog out, spinning is usually the problem after launching for most cars. For that AWD it will just rip and pull.

        It's still harder to launch a manual all wheel drive car though.
