• M133 shows its four cylinder muscle - Stock CLA45 AMG on the drag strip runs a 12.6@108.8 1/4 mile

The CLA45 AMG and the new M133 2.0 liter four-cylinder just continue to impress. Mid 12's from a factory 2.0 liter turbocharged motor with a warranty? Believe it. The all wheel drive and dual clutch transmission certainly help but the CLA45 AMG in the video below manages a 12.67 @ 108.8 with a 1.846 60 foot in warm Australian weather. BenzBoost hopefully does not need to provide a geography lesson and explain why it's summer in Australia right now.

Regardless, impressive performance from the entry level AMG and a 12.67 is the quickest stock pass recorded so far. Below the slip is a video showing he weather conditions as well as several passes.

        (Source: http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1...s-car-for-2014)

It isn’t just the major automakers churning out record sales figures for 2013; today, Mercedes-Benz tuner AMG announced that it sold a record 32,000 vehicles in the past year, up from roughly 24,500 sold in 2012. The gains were brought about by new compact offerings as well as the availability of all-wheel drive on more models.

“We are looking back on the company’s strongest year ever,” AMG boss Tobias Moers said in a statement. “This extraordinary growth has exceeded even our own expectations.”

Moers is right as AMG as recently as a year ago was forecasting annual sales of 30,000 units by only 2017. It’s clear the company underestimated the popularity of new products, like, for example, the CLA45 AMG, which was voted Motor Authority’s Best Car To Buy 2014 along with the Porsche Cayman.

(Editor: Do my eyes deceive me........along with the bloody Cayman? That piece-a-crap AMG 4-banger? Chile please.)

Availability of all-wheel drive also proved a hit: around 90 percent of E63 AMGs sold in 2013 were fitted with 4MATIC technology.
Key markets for AMG were the U.S., the U.K, and Germany, with sales for each during the past year up 20 percent, 40 percent and 10 percent on the previous year, respectively.

With a new GLA45 AMG hitting showrooms later this year and other models such as the CLA45 AMG and new S-Class AMG variants set to record full-year results this year, 2014 is shaping up to be an even better year for AMG.

        (Editor: UH-OH! Don't look good.)

Oh, and there will also be a new sports car to replace the SLS AMG, which bows out of the market this year and managed to rack up over 10,000 sales since its introduction in 2010. The new sports car, rumored to be called an AMG GT, has been confirmed for launch later this year.

Read it & weep. And don't get mad a me, homie!! That's the market, dawg. The consumer has spoken.

I'm starting to wonder how much you know about cars period with your absurd statements.

The 4.0 engine wasn't good enough but now you had to back off that ridiculous bull$#@! once you saw the Audi 4.0 TFSI smacking the M157 around.

Then you stated the S6 is the E63 competitor which is absolutely insane.

Now you are talking down on the most affordable AMG in the lineup because you think the CLA250 shouldn't exist despite it selling like hotcakes. You essentially want $50k+ of technology for free. It's insane.

Seriously, your points are absurd and you just don't even know what you're saying. It's the same old crap 'blah blah it should ahve 9.0 liters and it should cost X.' Mercedes knows what they are doing better than you do.

And this car is awesome and responsible for Mercedes finishing in first place so... yeah, yawn.

Dude...........you ain't never lied. Was at the dealership getting a wash last weekend, and as usual going around to check out the showroom floor while they work.

Then after I get done drooling over the white E63 Estate on the floor I see this ML looking like it's also sittin kinda low, as I'd noticed with the E63 (the first current generation model I'd ever seen in person; noticeably lower, to my surprise).

I'm like, what the....? Lo and behold it's a damn - needless to say - ML63 AMG. So if you know House Rules, you know HR #1 1993 :

        • When the lady of the house goes shopping, she must do so in class, style, and elegance.

Well, Sticky, the GLA45 will be yet another mommy-mobile for the all the good men amongst us to get for the (literal or figurative) wife - family budget permitting, of course.

The GLA45 is maybe for younger moms with no kids or smaller kids, that is, before they grow into the family needing an ML63 or GL63. Or even for younger moms with no significant other, but it don't matter. Younger, older, that's the rule.

'Cause if momma aint happy, NOBODY'S HAPPY!!, which we all know is House Rule #1 ...............except for the knuckleheads. (Not calling any names.Click here to enlarge So don't anybody get their panties in a bunch.)

        He gone!

Honestly I'd take the GLA45 over the ML63. You have a lighter car that handles better and is almost half the price. Not to mention it has a dual clutch transmission and will just be way more fun to drive.

Oh, but wait, obviously the GLA45 sucks because it doesn't have a 5.5 liter motor despite the fact it will run circles around the ML and match it in acceleration with less than half the displacement.

        Yep, junk.

The Gla45 amg would defiantly be my snow car/ grocery getter. That would be a car i'd be comfortable with leaving in a parking lot. Unlike a Viper, Mclaren, SLS or any other high end two door exotic.

Look at my post history. MY posts have been bringing up the S6 as soon as I got here.
I've been wanting the S6 since I heard the specs.

I prefer the S6 mainly for the DCT, but the lower weight, and price, are just a plus.
But, the 5.5L will ALWAYS make more power over the 4.0, especially modified
Frankly, you were wrong in the first place, but repeating it over and over again makes you sound retarded.

If you really think the CLA45 costs MB much more to make than the CLA250, than you are as stupid as you sound.

MB could still sell the CLA45 for the CLA250 price and still make a nice profit.
But, a 66% premium is a joke for the CLA45.

Everyone with a brain knows the CLA is selling well due to the fact its a Mercedes with a low base price.
        Duh.

        Always? Really?

GAME OVER EVERYONE. PACK IT UP. Go get a Viper V10 and stop wasting your time.

LOL at those idiots with GTR's trying to race cars with more displacement.

        Good point man.

        Based on forum text, obviously.

You do realize the guy responsible for the M133 engine is now at VW and states the development cost and time was actually quite high? Additionally, he is now trying to outdo the M133 and it's a pretty tall order? But the way he is going about it is specifically to lower the cost of development versus what AMG had to spend?

I'm sure you know all of this.

I'll just keep that in mind for everything four-cylinder.

You know what, screw it, no more four-cylinder coverage. I'll also write a strongly worded letter to all manufacturers producing four-cylinders that their $#@! will no longer be tolerated and if they expect any discussion on this network they better increase the displacement to 12 liters.

But yes i'd gladly drive a .5 million dollar car around in the snow and to get groceries. in fact i'll buy two of them so they can dwarf my bugatti veyron! Of course one will be completely stock and the other will have the weistec works and be made to put down 1000whp! Now where can I find a dyno to tune it? LOL @ your six wheel truck having only 8 cylinders.

Mercedes is a bunch of pussies for not sticking a V12 in there. I'd buy it if it had a 6.0 liter V12 but a 5.5 liter V8 is just ricer.
