• Prior-Design releases their PD Black Edition V2 widebody kit for the W221 S-Class

If you have ever wanted to give your W221 S-Class a more aggressive look mimicking the AMG Black Series offerings you are in luck. Here is the new PD Black Edition V2 widebody kit for the W221 S-Class from Prior-Design. The design is very similar to their Black Edition V2 offering for the W216 CL. Prior-Design essentially took that kit for the W216 CL coupe and adapted it to the four-door W221 S-Class with very good results.

The car is much more aggressive with the new bumper, fenders, bumper, hood, trunk spoiler, and sideskirts. This may be a bit much for some and the promotional photos show a car that may be a bit too low for its own good but this certainly is one way to fit wider tires to put some serious torque down to the pavement.

Pictures below. Pricing is roughly $9500 based on a conversion from Euros.

Oh......sh--Click here to enlarge . Prior Design never ceases to amaze. In terms of bodywork and with all due respect to Brabus, Lorinser, Carlsson, Kleeman, Renntech, Peicha, Vath, MKS, and every other Mercedes tuner I've forgotten - large and small, PD is the closest to the mindset of AMG's technicians - from its engine builders to bodykit designers to chassis/suspension peeps. Too much is never enough.

Case in point - C63 AMG Black: About 1.5" / 3" wider track front & rear versus the already kinda insane C63s?

Which were already about 1.5/.5 wider to begin with and clearly a bit of a carrryover from the CLK Black..........which it outperforms?

And don't get me started on that rear wing, and a few other optional pieces.

Yes, some bodykits can be a bit much, but PD seems to go by the same philosophy of 'too much is never enough', but without crossing that line, of course.

On the Vossens, yes, very true but disappointing for me. Wanted some CV3s - as seen above, but with a machined stripe around the circumference. Then waited for 6 months back in early 2012 for their engineers to finally get them right............never did. For some reason they could not get the wheel to fit the large brake package.

So, had to go for the XO Miami wheels, virtually identical.

Question is: Did Vossen ever get the fitment right? Been back on the site regularly and have never seen a C63 with any Vossen wheels.

If no, how could such a reputable company drop the ball on that? On the other hand, saved a boatload (for other upgrades/enhancements) on a wheel with every bit as much quality and solidity.
        Who knew?

        Definitely agree with this.

There's a few guys with Vossen wheels. They just don't have a big presence here. HRE is the most popular by far.
