• B9 Audi A4 spotted testing and is likely arriving in 2015 - Audi aiming for a curb weight under 3000 pounds

Audi's onslaught continues and the still fresh looking B8 A4 will be replaced in 2015 with the upcoming B9. The model is heavily camouflaged and it is early in testing but reports are that Audi is attempting to lighten the car significantly as it is doing with seemingly every new model joining the lineup. Just how big of a weight loss is Audi targeting? If rumors are to be believed the entry level A4 should come in at 1300 kilograms (2932 pounds).

That will likely not be a model available in the USA and may even be front wheel drive. Audi expects to shave 100 kilograms (220 pounds) across the A4 range. That would take the current base level B8 A4 2.0 with Quattro available in the USA to the 3300 pound range. The S4 would drop to to the 3600 pound range.

Love all the weight dropping going on - M3/4, B9, Range Rover, even the F150. Weight loss is a positive in every aspect.

Agree strongly. The F150 caught me off guard!

Good stuff! The B9 can't get here soon enough. It's on my short list for which car to by next year. There are actually only two cars on my list. A B9 S4 or a B9 S5.... Click here to enlarge
