    • Eurocharged releases Stage I M133 AMG 2.0 liter four-cylinder (A45, CLA45, GLA45) engine tune - +40 horsepower, $999.99

      The M133 tuning scene continues to heat up and BenzBoost vendor Eurocharged is now in the mix with their offering. Eurocharged has a plug and play unit that will work with the A45 AMG, CLA45 AMG, and likely the GLA45 AMG as well once it is officially on the streets as these models all share the same M133 four-cylinder motor. On a Dynojet in DIN correction output rises from the baseline of 359.44 to 401.82 horsepower at the crank.


      This correction factor is metric horsepower so the peak numbers would be slightly lower using the US standard of horsepower measurement. Once more the 45 AMG models are on the road more dynographs will come but take a look at the graph below which shows gains through the curve with a peak gain of 42.38 horsepower.

        What exactly is your problem?

        You don't have the car. You talk down on the motor.

        The market will determine the price. The fact this even available shows a good thing. If people don't want it, they won't buy it.

        Your continuous negative attitude really is tiresome especially for those who just want to learn and read about cars. Nobody is forcing you to buy anything so how about we learn more about the tune and what Eurocharged has in store for this motor?

        I'd seriously rock a GLA 45amg. I'll have a low 13 high 12s SUV for around 50k. That and a tune mid to low 12s

        I drove by a new CLA 45 AMG here the other day in NY... that is not THE SMALL CAR I expected to see..... had to check the specs and at 185" and a wheelbase of 106" it is shockingly large....

        Its as big as my old 540i... couldnt believe my eyes... but it looks much better in person than in the pics I have seen... actually one of the better looking Benz cars of late I have seen... BTW the old 540i is 188" in length

        It weighs 3600 pounds so it isn't tiny. I also think the people expecting the C63 to be lighter are dreaming.

        It's a great looking car in person.

        Just a little Automotive 101 for the obviously clueless.

        A "custom dyno tune" is when YOUR car is rolled onto a dyno and YOUR ecu is CUSTOM TUNED on the dyno.
        A custom dyno tune provide the best possible results. A mail order tune does not.

        You do realize they are claiming the chassis the is lighter, right? Not that the entire curb weight with all drive means it will be lighter than the previous rear wheel drive cars?

        You think a 4Matic C400 is going to be lighter than the 3600 pound CLA45 AMG? I'll be here to tell you I told you so.

        Who said anything different? Who said this is a custom dyno tune?

        For the 'clueless' you may have noticed there are no custom flash dyno tunes available yet. This is the best option currently and a good one.

        Is partaking in reality not one of your strong points?

        What exactly are you worried about the CLA250 for?

        I'm not worried about anything.
        But, the CLA250 is $30k, and what I think the CLA cars are worth.....AT MOST.....for a daily beater.
        So, I'm interested to see what they do with a dyno tune and light mods.

        Even a new G37x sedan can be had for $32k and it's a pretty good car, and size, for the money as a daily beater.

        Infiniti's usually are values compared to Mercedes AMG vehicles. The CLA also handles pretty damn well too...

        I'm not calling you stupid for questioning the pricing but it sure does seem to be performing well for its price range and exceeding expectations.

        Keep in mind this is the entry level AMG. The G37 existed before the CLA and was designed to compete with larger displacement motors. The fact the CLA45 AMG can run circles around it is pretty awesome. Yes, it comes for more money but it also is an AMG car and it has more technology.

        For even money, I still might take a G37x sedan over a CLA45.
        To suggest that the CLA45 runs circles around the G37x is laughable.

        For $30k, the CLA45 would have been impressive.
        For $50k, it's a joke.

        That's E92 M3 performance from a four-cylinder.

        That exceeds a C55 AMG with a tune and that has a 5.5 liter V8 and cost over $50k.

        This is about what an SL55 AMG runs and is cost over $100k and comes with a supercharged 5.4 liter V8 putting out 500 horses.

        This exceeds the Challenger SRT8 which has a 6.4 liter Hemi V8 and costs about the same.

        Seriously? How skewed is your perception? I can go on naming cars this beats. This is AMAZING performance.

        You have a turbocharged 2.0 liter four cylinder entry level Mercedes with all wheel drive, 3600 pounds, four doors, and a dual clutch transmission running low 12's with just a tune as of today. I guess you just can't please some people.

        It's embarassing for me running a Mercedes performance website to discuss performance and tuning of available Mercedes models? I should instead start a letter writing campaign to get Mercedes to build this vehicle with a price point of displacement of your satisfaction?

        You can actually buy a C7 Corvette for $50k.
        Now THAT is a $50k car worth praising.
        But, the $50k CLA45?
        Gimme a break.

        You sound like a ricer when you keep bringing up that it's a tiny 2.0L . Like it's something to be proud of.
        It's not. Frankly, it's an embarrassment to ask $50k for a car with on 2.0L. I don't car how much boost your run through it.
        It's still a pathetic 4 cylinder. And, for $50k, I require a V8, or at LEAST a blown 4.0 L.

        We both agree that the $70k Audi S6 is a beast, and the C63 is going to be great.
        But, I'm not going to drop to my knees with you on a $50k Evo/STi just because it's got a star on the hood.
