    • 2014 facelifted rear wheel drive E63 AMG versus a bolt on modified 490 wheel horsepower BMW E60 M5

Interesting race video showing the new facelifted E63 AMG with the twin turbo M157 5.5 liter V8 versus a bolt on modified and tuned naturally aspirated S85 V10 BMW E60 M5. We have seen this E63 AMG in action before against a tuned F12 M6 where it came out on top. This E63 AMG belongs to BenzBoost member Alrasheed1991 and is stated to be completely stock. Keep in mind, this E63 AMG is rear wheel drive and not all wheel drive as the facelifted E63's are sold with 4Matic only in the USA.

The E63 makes easy work of the E60 M5. What is interesting is we have seen this same race before with a this same E63 although versus a different bolt on modified M5. In that race the E60 M5 is able to pull up top. What changed here?

We are not sure. There is some controversy on the forums whether this car has a tune or not. The owner claims it does not yet how is it getting pulled in one race by a bolt on M5 and then pulling easily in another? A tune would explain that discrepancy. Regardless, the E63 comes out on top easily in this one.

I would have to assume race gas at the least.

with this race was 24 or 25C

To me, the difference in the races looks like the difference a tune should make.

Just re stating what the video said on the M5 owners youtube page:

        Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG
        C16 fuel
Says the owner of the vehicle e63 as stock now
But a week before the race I had with him, and made him a big lead and I was the 2 race i winner.

Hmm interesting. I'd say adding C16 to a stock car would definitely add a bit of power, modern ECUs can tell when there is more resistance to detonation, so usually at least a bit of power is to be had. What colors are those on the 63...definitely not available in the US, and extremely beautiful.
