PorscheBoost has considerable experience with the first generation Cayenne and the Macan will be compared in that context. It looks far more compact yet more aggressive. The interior is simply leaps and bounds ahead mimicking the current design language pioneered with the Panamera that is really making every Porsche interior start to blend together. There is no denying it is beautiful though.
The car feels more tight and sporty from behind the steering wheel. There seemingly is less horizontal room but it just feels as if you are held more snugly. The back seat actually seemed more comfortable than a first gen Cayenne with slightly more leg room although it would be more difficult to squeeze in three people in the back.
With less weight, a dual clutch transmission, and offering greater efficiency than the Cayenne it is definitely difficult to argue in favor of the Cayenne unless tow capacity is the main concern of a Porsche SUV buyer. The Macan is going to be a hit.
