    • The B7 RS4 gets some balls - APR's Stage B7 RS4 Eaton TVS1740 Stage III supercharger kit runs a 10.6@130 1/4 mile

Now that's more like it! For a long while now the 4.2 FSI motor in the RS4 and RS5 has been getting beaten up on by, well, just about anything. APR's Stage I and Stage II supercharger systems made a nice difference but the cars still lagged behind supercharged E92 M3's, tuned 335's, and 63 AMG's. Well, with the announcement that they intended to go to a larger Eaton TVS1740 blower for a Stage III supercharger kit APR certainly raised the bar in the 4.2 FSI V8 game.

How does 585 wheel horsepower and a 10.6@130 in the 1/4 mile sound? Now that is some serious performance and keep in mind this is a manual all wheel drive car. Once APR gets this kit on the new RS5 with the dual clutch transmission it should make for an even quicker and faster car.

Nice work APR, this is some serious performance out of the 4.2 FSI V8.

$#@! that thing is launching HARD. Wonder how long the trans will hold up? I think the 100 octane tune, full weight and cat back exhaust is the way to go to be streetable. Still hitting 129mph and only 4 tenths off the faster setup - 11 flat is nothing to sneeze at for a daily driver.

        DCT vs 6mt

Yeah but the M3's are putting out more power. They are faster regardless. They gets the ET based on weight loss, all wheel drive launch, and instant torque.

They can run an M3 from a roll to see for themselves.

The RS5 should be a better comparison to a DCT M3 but will still lose from a roll.

Im just saying the disparity would be closer with a 6mt M3. Whats the fastest 6mt e9x m3 time?

        11.94 @ 118.66 with a 1.9 60', ESS-600 w/ DRs and -1100'

The DCT is what's keeping the M3 close, like I said it's a lot more impressive that the RS4 (a full size, Manual Trans, AWD sedan with a bolt-on supercharger, some DRs and basic light weight mods) runs mid-10s vs. the DCT equipped M3 (also with DRs + lightweight mods)

I agree 100% the fact this is a 6MT is what makes it so impressive. Same setup in a DCT rs5 should do damage and will give the m3 a run for its money

So the 6mt cars aren't even in the low 11's? Yeah this would be a close race vs a 6mt M3. The difference in trap speed is huge.

The "fastest" 6MT out there is Izzy's ESS VT3 car, but he doesn't run it at the 1/4 mile, just lots of 60-130 performance. But at DOR II (at MIR) a 6MT E90 went sub-11.5, so that would make it the fastest Manual E9x M3 in the 1/4 -- @Andrew@activeautowerke

It would be of course the DCT makes a big difference.

Makes no sense to say this is more impressive when it isn't basic lightweight mods. Regardless, M3's are on another power level anyway and this car can't do much more than this. Nice to see the RS4 finally not embarrassing itself performance wise though.
