An APR tuned Audi S8 on race gas versus a stock Cadillac CTS-V on the drag strip
This is a bit of a mismatch on paper especially considering just how potent APR has shown the Audi S8 to be with their ECU tune on 100+ octane race gas. Over 600 horsepower at the wheels
tune only on race gas is no joke. Already breaking into the 10's tune only is also not a joke
. The CTS-V certainly is a potent sedan with a supercharged 6.2 liter LSA V8 but being stock and at 556 horsepower to the crank it is in a bit over its head.
The drag races in the video below between the two bear that out. The S8 simply rips the CTS-V out of the hole on its way to an 11.25@123 1/4 mile pass versus the 13.47@111 for the CTS-V. The CTS-V did do better in subsequent runs getting into the 12's with a 12.7@114 but the S8 still beat it down without breaking a sweat.
Keep in mind this is a Flordia drag strip so the times will be a little slower than reached in other areas of the country.
