    • Auto Zeitung 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo S (991) test figures - 0-60 in 2.9 seconds, 0-100 in 6.2 seconds - Easy 10 second car?

A week back a video was posted on PorscheBoost.com showing a Porsche 991 Turbo S ripping through the gears from 0-207 miles per hour. The car appeared very fast for its rated 560 horsepower and test numbers from German publication Auto Zeitung definitely confirm that the 991 Turbo S is a blazing fast car. 0-60? A traction limited stat these days that is losing importance but one that all wheel drive cars now dominate as the 991 Turbo S 2.9 second sprint demonstrates.

0-100 miles per hour? In a scant 6.2 seconds. 6 seconds used to be considered fairly quick to 60 miles per hour let alone to 100. To put this acceleration time in perspective the V10 Carrera GT supercar rated at 612 horsepower takes 6.8 seconds to do the same sprint. Unfortunately, Auto Zeitung did not do a 1/4 mile sprint (or 0-400 meters) as that is a performance metric with more importance in the USA.

Regardless, it seems the 991 Turbo S will easily be in the 10's in the 1/4 mile and will trap over 130 miles per hour. Mid 10's out of the box even seems realistic. 9's with bolt ons? That seems to be well within reach as well.

If these aren't well into the 10s I'd be extremely shocked. Once again, the Turbo is the performance bargain of the century. I love these cars.

It's hardly a bargain. But definitely an awesome car.

I mean, when you consider what is needed to surpass this...you can't really do much better. And this car is a much better car than a ZR1 or GTR all around, built better, higher tech, more reliable (likely), more luxurious, and to my eyes, much more attractive. Those are really the only two cars cheaper than this that can come close in performance. Everything else, you'll need about a quarter mill to play.

DCT M3 + blower and you're right there. Obviously you won't match the 0-60 but that's more of a function of all wheel drive than power.

Very true. In terms of speed there's definitely modded cars that fit the bill. But that Turbo interior is to die for

        Incredible for a stock car: 0-160 km/h - 6.2s

Sounds like a awesome car. I wonder why thet gave it such a long fourth gear?

The acceleration figures are impressive, and the PDK is no joke... But regarding the 1/4 mile time, it shouldn't be a surprise that a car now with more power & probably a lot better Trans + Launch Control programming should be able to out do the 997.2, which has run mid-10s completely stock @ 129 MPH
