    • GIAC Stage 2 tuned B8 Audi S5 with AWE-Tuning pulley runs 11.7@117.8 1/4 mile - Who needs an RS5?

The Audi 3.0 TFSI supercharged V6 motor sure has given the Audi S5 the shot in the arm it needed. With GIAC Stage 2 tuning and a pulley from AWE-Tuning the facelifted B8 Audi S5 easily broke into the 11's with an 11.787@117.80 1/4 mile sprint. That means the Audi S5 with bolt on modifications easily outpaces the RS5 big brother equipped with Audi's 4.2 liter FSI naturally aspirated V8. It is somewhat embarrassing that the RS5 can be beaten so easily by its own sibling in the A5 lineup.

How much more is left in this car? With colder weather and a full exhaust mid 11's are within reach. To go faster than that a supercharger upgrade seems to be on the menu. For the RS5 to compete with this it would need a supercharger itself. The Audi S5 is definitely the better choice for a person that intends to tune their car from both a value and performance perspective.

The only next step really is a bigger blower now.
