    • Evolve Automotive E9X M3 S65 V8 before and after E600 supercharger kit dyno results - 200+ wheel horsepower gains

414 horsepower is more than enough power for most people out there. But then there are those people who read BimmerBoost.com and are not like most people out there. They want more out of their car. Well, how about painlessly adding over 200 horsepower at the wheels to your M3 with a bolt on supercharger kit? That is exactly what the Evolve E600 kit promises to do and as the dynograph below shows it more than delivers on that promise.

On a dynojet this M3 posted a baseline of 347 wheel horsepower on 93 octane fuel. At a mild 6.7 psi of boost from the supercharger on that same pump 93 octane with an aftermarket exhaust system output rose to a peak of 553.78 wheel horsepower. Basic arithmetic gives us a gain of 206 horsepower at the wheels. That is well over 600 horsepower at the crank. Repeatable, every day, bolt on performance for your M3. Not to mention an absolutely beautiful torque curve.

Just put an offer on a 2008 Jerez Black 6MT M3 with 42,000 km on it, brand new. Find out if I get it tomorrow, trying to temper my enthusiasm in case it falls through. If I get it, it will be evolved after winter Click here to enlarge

This is the car I want, its basically brand new. Previous owner was a lady and it was her second car and she drove it a grand total of 6000 km per year. DCT will be quicker but I want stick. Anyway, will pick your brain if it goes through, I want to learn more about Evolve's offerings as I want the Rotrex setup so AA is another option although I don't like their meth setup.

E36 will be going up for sale.

If I were you, I would give the DCT a good try before jumping... Based on what you are saying about the motor, I think you would like it. It's like the difference between the S65 and whatever - same goes for DCT in my opinion. The car was made for it - it's hard to explain, but it really makes a difference everywhere.

Either way though - you are making a good decision, just wanted to throw that out there. Click here to enlarge

Honestly it is unreal how many people have done a complete 180. I attend a local meet and it seems like there is one less N54 every time. I have lost count of people I know in the BMW community that are now driving M3's, that were once M3 sh*t talkers.

Never was a $#@! talker about M3s, I loved my 135i, the N54 was and still is a gem of a platform. Hell, the N54 is responsible for the success of this forum. That said, I just kept thinking in the back of my mind that the V8 M3 is just something that will never come around again with the direction M division is going.

Last year when I was looking at options the S65 was still very expensive up here, fast forward 1 year and the prices of these cars have dropped dramatically to the point where it easily fits in my budget. Started getting the niggling feeling like the timing was now right, so here I am.

I hear you but I want to drive the car, not push buttons. I did that in my 135i (I know the ZF does not hold a candle to the DCT) and got really bored fast.

I don't blame you at all for wanting to throw gears.. 10 years ago I couldn't even imagine not owning the manual version of a car, but here we are with these DCT's.

I've got to agree with LM and inline that you should at least have a proper thrashing behind the wheel of a DCT equipped car. I'm looking at them too, as well as slapping a Evolve S/C on it and DCT would be my route 1000%.

I can only imagine this thing with another 200whp Click here to enlarge

@Irishace you won't regret the switch to a m3 or getting the evolve kit.... The only thing I regret is driving LM's car. It ruined my plan to enjoy na for a bit with FBO. The s65 with the evolve kit is 100% the way I would go...

Also, you should try a dct car, the high revs and gearing of the s65 along with the dct is a amazing package. The trans shifts so quickly when you full throttle, it's insane. Either way, your making a good choice jumping to the m3 and s65, I wish I had done it earlier.

Ok, I will give a DCT a run. Click here to enlarge

LM was a big reason I am going down this path as well. There are very few SC'd S65s in my area, in fact I cannot think of one, and I need to give the N54s a run around here Click here to enlarge

Same here. The only time that car shifts gears by itself is when it's using LC.

After reading this i am close to teetering on the edge of upgrading my 2007 335 n54 for an e9x m3 - obviously with intention to get the evolve or similar kit. General question about the e9x m3 for the faithful - what year or other consideration when i am buying? I found a nice 2009 coupe with 65k miles. Price is decent - i dont have to start with 2011 or newer to get the performance upgrade flexibilty with an m3- do i?

mines an 09, no issues. only other thing i could see as better for newer is the latest Idrive options. if your worried about bearings, thats a S65 thing and very very few have issues so model year wont change that.

I picked up a 09 as well with 43k miles. I got mine inspected by a shop and a blackstone oil analysis before I bought it, the car passed with flying colors. I would buy 09 and newer if I were you, just to avoid first year car issues (eventhough there arent really any on m3's). As LM said, make sure the car was properly maintained, oil changed at appropriate intervals, etc.

For those on the fence, I had a n54 335, FBO, protune, pump only with LSD and I don't regret one minute that I moved onto a m3. Now that my m is FBO and tuned it's just gravy.... My 335 was great, and it's a great car, but the m3 is another animal all together.

The dct is one of the best features of the car...
