    • Fftec Motorsports N54 twin scroll top mount turbo manifold kit, $4950 - Too pricey?

The N54 inline-6 turbo upgrade era is really now blossoming from stock housing options to a variety of aftermarket manifold and turbo solutions. Fftech originally worked on a bottom mount turbo manifold but it seems they have abandoned that setup in favor of a top mount turbo manifold now. This 'kit' includes everything you need to install an aftermarket turbo setup at $4950 but does not include an upgraded turbo making for a pricey manifold option.

Fftec deserves whatever the market is willing to pay and there are not exactly a plethora of top mount off the shelf manifold options in the N54 world at this time. Will it sell? Absolutely.

Why a top mount? Speculation by BimmerBoost members is that the bottom mount manifold required too much modification to the frame of the vehicle to fit. As a reminder, BimmerBoost vendors do have working bottom mount solutions for those not interested in a top mount for whatever reason (sleeper, heat in the engine bay, etc.).

      Picture and pricing info below.

      Included in this Kit:

FFTEC Twin Scroll Top Mount Exhaust Manifold
      FFTEC Top Mount Downpipe
      FFTEC Lower Intercooler Pipe
      FFTEC CNC Coolant Pipe
FFTEC Oil Feed and Drain Lines
      FFTEC Swirl Pot
      FFTEC Boost Control Solenoid
      FFTEC Valve Cover Heat Shield

E46 BMW M3 (2005) with turbo kit via Maximum PSI running on E85

Stage 1 kit plus exhaust, headers installed, redo bearings $15,000 (+), upgrades to get to stage 2 $5000-$7000 installed

700 whp at once again about $22,000 retail (there is hard evidence from Mike's videos that this can be achieved)

No built engine costs unless the stock grenades at 700whp even then lets show the power adders cost and then the built engine cost.

I was being very conservative (read cheap) with the $3-$5k

Of course we could do the Stage 1, Level 8 Active Autowerke S/C at $10,800 installed (direct quote from Andrew for my car) and add a 200 shot in dual stage of N20 .... still will cost close to $15,000 done properly

        VFF900
64mm CEA Precision turbocharger (turbo is not available with journal bearings)
        44mm Tial wastegate
        Tubular exhaust manifold
Single 3" down-pipe with external wastegate discharge
        2.25" Compressor output intercooler pipe
        Oil feed/drain line
        Coolant pipe
        3-port boost control solenoid
Gold insulation and WW neck heat wrap
        Air filter with recirculation
All necessary silicon couplers, hoses, clamps, fittings and fasteners
DME reprogramming (included with Procede purchase, or customers who already own a Procede)
        $7579

        Required Hardware:
Vishnu PROcede Rev3 Engine Control System
The only engine control system that offers external wastegates control, integrated PWM methanol injection, transmission protection logic, and all the failsafes necessary to safely support 600+ wheel horsepower. If you already have a Rev3, you do not need to purchase this. If you already have a Rev2.5, it will also suffice but will not offer 2-step/no-lift-shift/aux rev limit functionality.
        $745

Vishnu PWM Methanol System (4 nozzle)
Not only does this offer the absolute quickest response times, it also offers the widest operational dynamic range of any methanol injection system. Fully 3D mappable and capable compatible with any concentration of methanol (even 100%).
        $795

        ETS 7" Race Intercooler
There are a few options when it comes to front mount intercoolers. We have seen good results with both the Helix FMIC and the ETS "Race" FMIC. Both offer larger volume core designs suitable for single turbo power levels.
        $965

AEM 3.5 Bar MAP Sensor Kit
High-resolution pressure sensor capable of reading over 35psi of boost. The boost signal referenced from the intake manifold (downstream of the throttle body). Includes 3.5bar sensor, fittings, connector and plug-and-play harness.
        $150

        Trunk-Mount Methanol Tank Conversion Kit
This kit includes everything that is necessary to relocate the methanol pump, along with a new large capacity 5 gallon tank to the trunk. Perfect for those running high methanol mixes. Includes low level switch, 90 degree push lock fitting and all mounting hardware. If you have already converted to a trunk mount configuration, you do not need this kit.
        $195

        Forge Bypass Valves
The factory bypass valves will leak at higher boost pressures. These won't. While many upgraded bypass valves may work with the single turbo application, these have proven to do the job well. If you already have a good set of upgraded bypass valves, you do not need to purchase this.
        $345

        Available Options:
        Y-Configured Down-pipe Outlet
Necessary for bolt-on compatibility with stock or stock-replacement twin mid-pipes. Without this option, a custom 3-inch single tube exhaust system will be necessary.
        $250

        Quad Nozzle PWM Meth Upgrade
If you are already running our standard PWM Methanol Injection System, you already have two 1.0mm nozzles installed. For the single turbo application, you will need this upgrade which includes two additional nozzles, two T fittings, two more bung adapters and some extra 4mm hose. The four nozzles will need to be installed in the intercooler end-tank (2 on each end tank).
        $100

$11,124 + Labor Doesn't sound like a great deal when you list it out like this.

yeah and I forgot quite a few things on my quick list as well... but from an analysis I saw someone do here (who, when, where I dunno) the 335is was the cheapest to mod overall to get the 700 whp and traction/handling...

I think even starting at the 400 crank hp of the E9x M3 and adding the S/C kits by Gintani etc the add on costs run over $20,000 fully installed etc

Only good thing about s/c'ing an s65 6mt is you won't have to upgrade the clutch since we all know they don't make $#@! for torque...Click here to enlarge sorry, couldn't help myself

ok. So add ~$2k for LSD, $5500 for ohlins road and track or AST coilovers, another $1000 for clutch and fly wheel, $1000 for axles and then throw another grand at it for $#@!s and giggles...and that adds another $10500 for top of the lines suspension and driveline moss that will make it superior to the e9x M3.

we have now just crossed the purchase price of a brand new e9x M3 in bone stock form. So....

So, with the route I mention going, you get all top of the line parts and a rough total cost of $65,000 for the e92 335 new and a fully modded, 700+who car. How much is the base price on a brand new M3 again?

        +clutch/flywheel.

not counting halfshafts or LSD (as minimum things, halfshafts snap already... not counting suspension to actually *put down* the power)

        +LPFP (only a couple $hundred)

then if you REALLY wanted, about $10k to build the motor inc a head job (N54)

if you won the lottery, you'd be selling everything off in less than a month BC you'd be broke in a week.
