    • APR Stage I Audi S6 4.0 TFSI V8 on 100 octane runs 11.6@118.96 1/4 mile - Tuned S6 matches RS6/RS7 1/4 mile elapsed time

Impressive results here for a tuned Audi S6 on the APR 100 octane race fuel file. APR themselves hit 11.6@117 on 93 octane but please keep in mine that was on a different drag strip on another side of the country. This run was done by a customer, not by APR, on 100 octane at the Sacramento drag trip. In the much warmer California weather the customer was able to achieve a very impressive 11.6@118.96 1/4 mile time.

The S6 stock is capable of low 12's in the 112 mile per trap speed range. So, just about another 7 miles per hour added showing that the tune by itself is making quite a difference.

Tuned S6 and S7 vehicles definitely are a value alternative to the RS6/RS7. Additionally, unlike the RS models the S models offer a dual clutch transmission. They also offer the same displacement from the 4.0 TFSI motor although tuning and turbo changes explain the horsepower difference.

Car and Driver recently showed the stock RS7 is capable of 11.6@123. So, a tuned S6 is able to match the elapsed time thanks to the dual clutch transmission but not the trap speed of the RS7. Regardless, additional bolt on modifications (exhaust, downpipes) should bridge the trap speed gap further meaning a tuned S6/S7 does not give up much of anything to a stock RS6/RS7 making for a tuning value.

        This is great stuff!

One of the reasons why I picked up my s6 was because of the tuning potential of the engine.

Some will argue "buy a corvette or camaro and mod it and have cash left over" but I can tell you from owning 4 different supercharged LS engine products unless your turning the wrenches and building the engines yourself, that's not the case... In each instance I racked up 20k or 30k in build costs, add in the price of the car and you are getting close to s6 money.

Another reason is the tuner shoutout where a s6 almost matched the road race time of a tuned audi tt rs; wish I could learn more about the suspension of that s6.

Finally, I heard APR is working on a stage 2 for the s6? Is this a rumor or confirmed?

        thanks!

They are and some tuners have already succeeded in getting the RS6 turbos on the S6 btw.
