• APR releases Audi TT-RS 2.5 TFSI Stage III Garrett GTX3576R turbocharger upgrade package - 604 wheel horspower

      Whoa. Here it is, finally. For those wondering what was taking so long it was 604 wheel horsepower from an OEM level functioning package that was the hold up. APR shows who is boss yet again with the their Audi TT-RS Stage III turbo upgrade system featuring the Garrett GTX35R turbocharger. We all know the 2.5 liter inline-5 direct injected turbo motor in the TT-RS is a beast but AudiBoost was not expecting over 600 to the wheels. Incredible.


      That 604 wheel is on 100 octane. It's also 281 horsepower to the wheels over the stock 323 wheel. 281 freaking wheel over stock! 93 octane numbers are 492 wheel so about 500 at the wheels on pump gas in an all wheel drive sports coupe. 91 octane falls to 457 wheel which is understandable so California guys may want to look into meth injection. Regardless, nice to know just under another 150 wheel horsepower is there with 100 octane.

      What's the price? $12,999.99 and it is only available for 6-speed manual cars which is fine as 6-speed manual cars are all we have in the United States.

      Also keep in mind this same motor will go in the upcoming Audi RS3 sedan and already is in the Q3 RS. 600 wheel with those cars is going to be A LOT of fun.

        Best part? don't even have to crack the engine for this. Arin@APR stated that on 104 gas they got near 700hp and hit 40psi a few times. however as they were on stock rods they didn't want to keep it there. I am guessing as the thirst for more power grows and companies start selling upgraded Rods, we may see a Stage 3+ system. Provided they can fit a bigger turbo there. Clearance was an issue.

        RSWorx in NJ was one of the shops that did a Stage 3 set up on a TT-RS for testing purposes for APR. They have a $#@!load of photos of the install posted on golfmk6 (and i'm sure everywhere else they sponsor.)

        If it's cool with you I can bring them over here. I'll be nice and leave their watermark on them though.

        I can see the clearance issue on the TT-RS. But what about the RS3 and Q3 RS? The Q3 should have some space.

        They have the 104 fuel shown just no numbers for it. Guessing they can get it in the mid 600's? I'd tell them to go nuts with mine. Or give me upgraded rods Click here to enlarge

        not sure how big of a difference the front end space between the RS3 and TT-RS. However yeah a Q3? Damn you could get something big on that thing.

        If they bring the Q3 RS here I'll pick one up just to promote AudiBoost with. I have an old Cayenne sitting around I do not mind trading in one bit.

        if you don't mind not having it in your possession constantly. You'd get great exposure. during the summer they hit the VW/Audi car shows pretty hard. Getting audiboost.com out in front of the tens of thousands of people that go to Waterfest, SoWo, and H2oi would be awesome advertising.

        good, can't wait until the VAG part of the forum is as active as the BMW portion. I do try to mention vwboost as much as I can, gotta get @zhijjawi10 to post more videos and give him the bimmerboost intro.

        I know you do and I appreciate that.

        Honestly, I'm happy with the activity level where it is right now as I improve the network. Once the entire network base is set with all the sites, features, etc., I can start hitting them all hard.

        If they were all as active as BimmerBoost I'd have my hands beyond full. Steady steps forward at this pace allows me to maintain everything. We'll get there.

        For now the VW section has good focused info IMO anyway. No fluff, no fuss.

        that's a good point. To rapid and it can collapse. While new VW content (aside from front page) is few and far between, it's at least good stuff. I'd be pissed if I seen "what intake" threads start popping up daily over here.

        Yeah. VWboost is the slowest (and the newest) and I don't even advertise or promote it at all. So I'll just keep slowly filling it with good tuning and performance content and we can avoid the 'what filter do I get' threads in the meantime.

        I just can't keep up with 6 sites all very active plus building the sites plus writing articles. It's pretty hard as is even when I work all day at it.

        APR says high 7s 60-130. RS Worx cut a 1.7 60' on street tires. definitely some potential there.

        DAMN! 1.7 on street tires? that's impressive. 610HP, that turbo, AWD and a 1.7 60' should net a mid 10second pass.

        i don't think it was. They do have a HPFP out for these cars and I believe to make these numbers you need this.You could probably run a scaled down tune with the stock HPFP.

        oddly enough you can use the upgraded HPFP on the R8 V10 and Gallardo...so depending on how much the injectors can flow, there may not be any fueling restrictions for another 100-200hp...

        they released it yesterday with their stage 3 kit: http://www.goapr.com/products/hpfp_25tfsi.html

        Arin@APR stated that the upgraded internals fit a lot of pumps, including the 2.0TSI pump that is found in the rest of the world (NA TSI HPFP is laser welded shut).


        What do you think that should translate to in the 1/4 mile?

        APR advertises the Stage 1 93oct tune at 358WHP 425WTQ. The Stage 3 100oct is advertised for 604WHP 526WTQ

        I'd go out on a limb to say that with a ~250whp and ~100wtq power increase and a lighter driver (their driver was a bigger guy in the "baseline") who can drive manual real well, I could see this going 10.8.

        Good catch man I missed but that's fine as I can now make a separate article out of it.

        I could see high 10's for this as well. It should hit that although the 6-speed makes it tougher as someone will actually have to have some launching/rowing skill.
