    • $5k street race between Izzy Performance built motor E85 997.2 turbo versus sandbagging Foxbody Mustang (AV Boys)

Hell of a street race here between a 911 Turbo and a Mustang. It's a street race that was negotiated for $5k and somehow the racers and spectators manage to essentially shut down a public street for the run. On one side you have a 2012 Porsche 997.2 Turbo running E85 and said to be built. That likely means built motor and upgraded turbos. On the other side you have a Foxbody Mustang said to be naturally aspirated with 331 cubes.

On paper, this race should go the 911 Turbo's way especially considering it gets a car length and the hit. That is enough to make one raise their eyebrows and know something is up. The Porsche owner definitely should have known better. Especially considering there are videos online of this same Mustang taking down much stronger opponents like a 900 horsepower Corvette. Know your enemy.

Video is below, enjoy and the Mustang shows why a properly prepped rear wheel drive can beat all wheel drive in a drag race.

Sick ass mustang (and porsche LOL)!! Never seen street races go down where cars have lifted the front end like that..That definitely put a huge smile on my face when I saw it Click here to enlarge

Apparently these races go down near Southbay Toyota / Compton...Not too far from me...Man I gotta get my ass down there to see these wild cars in action one day!

Or adults who don't care about racing on the street for money. As it turns out, many of those building German cars to high horsepower levels already have money and could piss on $5k.

What I saw written on another site regarding the Mustang's launch, ignore the grammar mistake:

That mustangs launch was dirtier then fingering your sister and finding your fathers wedding band.

Good old Street racing!! it wasnt a full 1/4 and never ever race a full built race car against a street car less then a 1/4 unless you going on a roll. And that Mustang had his hand in Izzys Pocket from Hello.

most of the people with those cars can piss on 5k as well...don't fool yourself with misplaced elitism lmao. It's a hobby they enjoy and bringing out high WHP cars "just for fun" to possibly break with NO PAY-OUT is not something a lot of them will do...and I completely understand it

MANY of these guys have nicer cars than a BMW M3 (lol again at your comment)...they have been sitting in Porsches/GTR's etc for a while but these are their race cars. This is common practice in South Florida...nice daily and beater race car to take your money

Your elitist comment was hilarious because if you met any of these people you'd realize their bank account can go toe to toe with the best of them and these are cars they built with their spare change. They were just smarter to realize the money takes them further in something like a FoxBody vs a modern German car ($#@!ING DUH!). So they build the bucket and daily the expensive car with some bolt ons

It's a Foxbody Mustang trying to hustle people. The only thing misplaced is the that the owner isn't in Fast and the Furious and he's missing neon underbody lights.

No what's hilarious is your comment about people who list their whp being glorified bench racers automatically stereotyping people when maybe those people have grown up and take it to the track or events like responsible adults? Once again, they don't care about $5k and my 'lol M3' has more under the hood than that Mustang is worth. Don't think I do not respect the performance but don't sit here and talk about how much they 'may' have when the guy has to modify some old domestic pile of crap to stretch a dollar so he can street race for cash. It's a quick pile of crap, don't get me wrong, and I respect the performance but STFU with your nonsense.

I'm stereotyping yet you're the one assuming people don't have more than an old mustang...that's rich; tell me more about these people you've never met but are passing judgement on. Seeing as I have seen what I'm talking about on numerous occasions....I don't care what you think; I stand to gain nothing from lieing about something like that...

People with LARGE amounts of disposable income build race cars all the time...they are smarter than yourself for starting with a better platform that will end up running 8's for what you try to run bottom 10's with. But in your book that means they have less...lmao

From what I read the owner makes a point of how little he spent. I think for the most part people who modify old mustangs for the 1/4 mile aren't modifying new 911 Turbos. Wonder why that is?

Sure. And people with small amounts do too. Some race GT3 class based cars on roadcourses and others Camaros built for a 1/4 mile sprint. One of these costs more than the other.

No in my book my point was pointing out the absurdity of your claim that wheel horsepower means bench racing. I stated that people who build higher end cars likely are to take it to the track to race and do not care about street racing for $5k. Just because you don't race on the street endangering yourself and other people doesn't mean you do not use your car. Obviously you are having trouble grasping this.

What are you talking about I know PLENTY of people that go to the track and lay down 8's but WILL NEVER EVER put their WHP on display for the internet...This has nothing to do with going to the track vs the street; it has everything to do with racing and the spirit of competition. (full stop)

You post your slip and you are displaying your WHP so what's your point?

Then I find it odd you stated people who post their wheel horsepower are internet racers implying they never see the track. Now you're backpedaling which you should be because your comment was absolutely idiotic.

whatever you say man....I said posting your whp all over the internet is something typical of bench/internet racers. I'm not retracting it. They aren't posting their time slips all over the internet either. These practices seem foreign to you...maybe because you aren't in that arena of competition to see it happening

And I'm telling you you're wrong. Not everyone who posts a dyno on this website or any other for that matter is automatically a bench racer. Maybe it doesn't matter to them who knows how much power they're making because their goal isn't to try to hustle someone for peanuts?

You're right, I take the more mature approach when it comes to automotive competition. You'll see me on the track and you'll know how much power I'm making. Keep your change too btw.

That Mustang probably has 'more under the hood' than the cost of a 30k mile E9X M3. 500whp is obv BS.

My friend used to run in the now defunct NMRA Hot Street. 347ci 10,500 RPM N/A engine that ran 8.40s. That is an expensive engine.....

He also has a pro-mod car. The engine and trans cost more than your E92M, all of your mods and my E46M combined.

Like most of the serious drag racers, he has a lot of $$$. It has nothing to do with stretching a buck, they like drag racing and they pick the best car for the job. Mustangs are good for drag racing Click here to enlarge

From what I read, no it doesn't. And domestics are easier and cheaper to modify we all know that. A 30k mile M3 is how much money? How much does it take to build a domestic V8? Come on now. And we don't need to get into what it costs to build an M3 you already know that.

Sure is. There's cheaper ways to go 8.4s with a 347 though rather than high revving all motor right? A little giggle juice, a blower, a turbo, you name it.

A cheap solid rear axle V8 car better be or else it has no other redeeming quality.
