    • Urban Hotrod builds a 8000 rpm 3.8 liter 996 turbo using E85 tuned by Magnus Motorsports with HTA3586 turbos - 700+ whp on low boost

Here is an E85 996 3.8 liter build by the Canadian shop Urban Hotrod. The shop contacted PorscheBoost.com to share this build and we are glad they did. This 996 turbo features increased displacement to 3.8 liters from 3.6 and is tuned by Magnust Motorsports for E85. The turbochargers are upgraded to twin HTA3586 units which provide a very large power boost allowing the car to hit well over 700 horsepower to the wheels.

Urban Hotrod told PorscheBoost that the car did 780 wheel horsepower at 18 psi of boost which is a low boost setup. The graph sent only shows 704 wheel horsepower but the car is still being tuned and was not run to redline. That power figure was hit at 7200 rpm but the motor is built to rev to 8,000 rpm. Final numbers are eagerly anticipated!

For now, dyno graph and dyno video below.

Is the motor "built", or is it just increased displacement (I KNOW, they're getting an extra 1k in RPMs vs a completely stock motor). 700 WHP could be done on a stock 996 motor with a turbo upgrade & knowledgeable tuner. Looks like they're using a standalone also

When you increase displacement you are changing the internals so why wouldn't you go with stronger internals? Yes, it's built plus it is revving to 8k rpm which si higher than the 6500 rpm stock redline.

This is 700 whp on low boost and not run to redline...

I 100% agree, which is why I was surprised that it only made 700 WHP. Just Google'd the specs of the HTA3586s & they're similar to the Precision 6262s SO there's a lot of turbo left

I wouldn't post this showing it only makes 700. Its cool it goes to 8k though. But they need to make some more powa! Then it would be impressive.

They sent it to me. I'm sure they will send me more. It's pretty sweet regardless.

I'm not sure what is going on when 700 whp on low boost not running to redline isn't impressive.

Absolutely, its "impressive" it just needs to fully perform! Either way, looks promising.

Pro iffffiiiii No way our cars are complex and the system dosent cut it.
I have a friend that just pulled his Pro___ out to install the Syvecs. Had issues like crazy!
the Svyces it a very user friendly ECU.

AMS had just changed from PRO___ to the syvecs and just shattered the world record yesterday.

pull up SYVECS they posted it today. Still cannot load links
