• ALMS 2013 - BMW Motorsport wins the Lime Rock Grand Prix, 1st and 4th place finish moves BMW into first place overall - GT Class results

Congratulations to BMW Motorsport as well as drivers Dirk Mueller and John Edwards of the number 56 Z4 GTE for their victory at today's American Le Mans Lime Rock Grand Prix. The twin Z4 GTE's finished in 1st and 4th place picking up 30 points (20 for first 10 for fourth) to Chevrolet's 22 points (16 for second place 6 for sixth). This means BMW now takes over first place by just one point from defending champion Chevrolet.

The Z4 GTE is proving strong and BMW is once again showing how fast they can be despite bending the rules to do so. This was the fourth race of the 10 race season making the next Gran Prix at Mosport in two weeks the mid-point of the season. Things are getting very interesting, results below.

I opened up this thread just to say the exact same thing. It will be interesting to see if there are rules changes for next season to shut this kind of thing down.

The rules will change, and BMW probably will make a super limited run (like the 1m) and it will get around it.

Should be. Fair is fair. You want to race BMW? Build it.

BMW will probably pull out instead. BMW is the master of teasing and pulling out. They get off on fourplay.

I was really impressed seeing them in person in Long Beach the cars sound and look amazing. Hard to follow a race in person though versus on TV.
