• Newest F82 M4 spyphotos show off aggressive body work for the upcoming 2014 M4

The new F82 M4 (it's still weird to say and BimmerBoost just can't get used to it) seems to be shaping up quite well. The F32 4-Series production design was recently leaked and the basic 4 just did not seem to have much of an aggressive look to it. Well, in comes the F82 M4 version of the 4-Series to remedy that and sure looks the part. The spyphotos below are the clearest yet of the upcoming 2014 M car showing it completing winter testing.

The flared fenders are there as is the the more aggressive M style front bumper. The rear diffuser features quad exhaust pipes reminiscent of the E92 M3. The wheels appear large and fill out the fenders quite well. There are also some big brake discs hiding behind them. The car still has camo but it's starting to look the part thankfuly.

      Pics below.

The manual will be waaaaay easier as far as handling big power is concerned. The new M3 is not going to be easy for tuners.

What are you talking about...throw a JB on it and it will run down a Veyron.

Put two JB's on it and... who knows what will happen. The world may not be ready to find out.

if they want to TRUELY be competitive, they better over engineer some $#@!. think about it, if an M could really rival other easy big HP cars, they will sell the $#@! out of them. now that its going to be boosted, i think the aftermarket tuners will have an increase in attention to it.

Problem is the competition will have boosted V8's.

BMW's never were and never will be the best choice for big HP aftermarket performance. They just happen to be pretty good at everything all around.

So true. It will probably be way easier to make bigger numbers int he TT V8 AMG's than the BMW I6 TT.

True, it seems like the only car BMW is try keeping the MT in is the M3/M4. They're clearly trying to phase it out in the M5 & M6 since the DCT is the default option.

Heffer said in an interview that the problem with the M cars of the past that the platform weren't BIG HP/aftermarket friendly without heavy modifications, which is true. But now that the M motors are turbod from the factory (which is very "un-M"), there's def going to be a lot more aftermarket appeal (and potential). BUT like LM said, it's all depends whether or not the M Division over engineers the car or give it the "that'll do" treatment.

To be honest, the M cars WERE aftermarket friendly. The Swedes were putting out 1000+ hp BMW's almost regularly. And the old M motors lent themselves better to big power IMO but obviously required more building and modification.

But you get an S38 right... and you have this. What new M car is going to touch this?

But that's the problem, it's been the older M motors (S54 & earier) that delivered a better aftermarket platform. Especially when you compare it to some of the other cars that Heffner works on: Audi R8, Lamborghini Gallardo, Ford GT, McLaren MP4 (in R&D stage right now on their site) and the various Vipers. You can obviously add various Corvettes & the new LSA/LS9 motors to that list also.

I know. I just don't like the credence being paid to it.
