    • 2014 CLA45 AMG (C117) confirmed for USA - Official US debut at 2013 NYC Auto Show

Well this is not groundbreaking news as the CLA45 AMG was expected for the USA but it is nice to have official confirmation. The 2014 CLA45 AMG will make its debut at the 2013 New York City Auto Show on March 27th. There is an AMG sneak preview night to get a look at the car before the general public. It will be interesting to see what the USA MSRP is considering the CLA250 starts at $29,999 which means the AMG version will likely be in the $40's.

The car will of course have all wheel drive, a 7-speed dual clutch transmission, and a fire breathing M133 turbocharged 354 horsepower direct injected 2.0 liter four-cylinder with 26 pounds of boost from its turbo. Talk about a fun entry level AMG tuning platform. Things are getting very interesting on the boosted front with the Germans. Audi will fire back with an RS3 sedan, the question becomes if BMW will enter the entry level battleground as well.

I am loving the new merc design language. Striking looking car, especially for the price.

Revolutionary. I wonder how strained the stock 4 banger will be out of the box...I hope they leave ample room for growth.

I'm looking forward to the A45 AMG more than this though. that same engine in a smaller hatch. that's going to be badass.

"The Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG won’t be sold in the U.S., but it gives us an excellent idea of what to expect from the upcoming and U.S.-bound CLA45 AMG. It won’t be a hot hatch, but if the A45 is any indication, it may well be the hottest compact sedan." Car and Driver

        That sucks.

The A45 AMG is a similar platform. Won't differ all that much.

A45 specs officially revealed. Guessing we will see identical specs for CLA45.

Most powerful production 4-cylinder sold today.

True, even the weight difference is preety marginal (35 kg ~ 80 lbs) and lenght between the axles is the same.
