    • Weistec engineering sets new M157 (63 AMG bi-turbo) horsepower record and is first to demonstrate upgraded turbos achieving 727 wheel horsepower

A major congratulations is in order to Wesitec Engineering for yet another world's first and yet another record on an AMG platform. Weistec was able to hit an eye opening 727 wheel horsepower courtesy of their M157 turbo upgrade, Weistec downpipes, Weistec exhaust, Weistec tuning, air filters, as well as their own M157 cooling package. A nice combination of modifications which resulted in 727 wheel horsepower and 730 wheel pound-feet of torque.

The upgraded turbos feature the factory OEM Garrett housing which is modified with new parts including new compressor wheels. It is also impressive to see Weistec setting records so quickly on the the M157 platform after having essentially mastered the M156. Simply phenomenal progression. Dyno below, on 100 octane, Dynojet, SAE correction:

The previous horsepower record was held by Renntech with a pull of 627 wheel horsepower and was done on the stock turbos. The upgraded turbo era of the M157 is here. Pricing information on the upgrade to come soon. Congratulations again to Weistec Engineering, video below.

        This is key.

Factory wheels are cast I take it?

        Well done @Weistec

Amazing how quickly you make advancements on such a new platform. If I only I could buy an E63 Estate...plus all these goodies. It would be one heck of a rocket-family hauler-grocery getter!

        Keep up the great work.

Renntech just released their M157 package, the term a day late and a dollar short comes to mind, although a day late and about 50 horses short would be more accurate. Why would Renntech even release that data hot on the heels of Weistecs far more impressive figures being released?

We don't have pricing info and this is just the beginning. There will be different options for different tastes. Notice the Renntech figures are pump while Weistec's are race fuel. It's early on. Clearly Renntech saw what Weistec released and Weistec will see what Renntech releases.

Race fuel tune is worth about 5-7hp

        Not on a turbo motor.

It is worth much more on a turbo motor. One can gain 50+hp easily with race fuel on turbo motors than pump.

crazy crazy crazy. If benz would just work on their navi screen a bit and their interaction (make it more like BMWs) they would have me sold. THeir interiors are getting very nice latley as well as the exterior, but the navi colors and layout are just a turnoff..

i wonder if this upgrade would work on the regular 550 models?

What navi screen are you talking about? I will agree with you that their older navi was a joke, but the navi in my 2012 Black Series is outstanding and probably the best voice operated system I have ever used. Not to mention it comes downloaded with race tracks on it Click here to enlarge and once you arrive at that track and do one lap on the track it unlocks all kind of features such as lap times and sector timer for that track, it records all your lap and sector times and stores them for download later onto an SD or USB memory device...pretty sure BMW is not offering that.

I heard that if anything needs to be replaced on the new TT motor regarding the turbos that the motor has to be dropped...is that true?

I would think so just by seeing the layout. Look: http://www.benzboost.com/content.php...t-differential

Their regular navi setup. Its easy to use but BMW has 3-d panoramic view, the colors/contrast is a lot better. Having race tracks and downloadable stuff via USB is a first though Click here to enlarge

Cant really comment on pulling the motor or not Click here to enlarge
