Car was dyno'd earlier in 2012 on Dynojet AWD dyno at 38 psi and medium timing and made 759 AWHP and 554 wtq. July 29th Kevin turned up timing in 3rd and 4th gears by one degree from 7000 to 9500 rpm, and added a couple psi of boost in the same range. The map was called HOLDTHEFON1, appropriately named as that day i went 9.34 @ 153.7 with 1.400 60', and made this car the world record 4cyl Quattro drag car fastest AND quickest. At that time it was also both fastest and quickest Audi in N America PERIOD, but since has kept the ET but slipped back into second place for Trap Speed, again behind the S4 VR6T of Chris Green / USP Motorsports.

      Vbox stats.

      0-60 in 2.3 sec
      60-130 in 4.9 sec
      60' 1.400 sec

Last run of the year for 2012. Wrong discs too much slip. Still trapping in the 150's

The best runs of the car to date: 9.34 @ 153.7 and backed up with 9.36 @ 153.8. This day the car went 6 passes in a row with traps from 151.34 to 153.84, only a 2.5 mph spread. worst run was in the semi finals i choked as i was racing a longtime friend and a guy who has all of my respect as he is a great racer at 10.15 @ 152ish.

Dyno run and showing the boost holding at 38psi.... the pull was 4k rpm to 8500.

And because i wanted to test the dogbox and no clutch shifting, we did a semi-hard pull on the dyno for four gears. and when i say i make >400 AWHP in first gear on 26 psi, it is because i really know i do

        my best run....

my last runs of the 2012 season. no excuses.... put the Ceramic Bronze discs in instead of the Sintered Iron discs, cost me the shorttrack hard. best 60' of 1.8x but still was trapping in the 151-153's. even tried to no-lift-shift once, and the discs really didnt appreciate it.

Omg...there needs to be a bowdown smiley. You did this...in your garage. With basically no help. And you ran those times with three pedals. You, good sir, are a $#@!ing legendary badass.

And if you go sequential dogbox for next year...might as well go all out and do an airshifter setup. Now that would be beyond ridiculous, and would certainly help matters.

i ran this year with the dogbox and just a regular 20+ year old H-pattern shifter, from a 1992 UrS4 in fact.

but 2013 i have the sequential shift ready to go, just need to dial in the engine cut times. gonna start around .100 sec, on/off/on throttle time for me manually has been .150 sec or so but not no-lift-shift to stay spooled...

this is the new shift setup.

forgot to add some dyno video.... this was 38 psi? we run 1 degree more timing and couple psi more on the track in 3-4 gears from 7k-9500 or so?

and this was just for fun, running thru 4 gears because i wanted to test the shifter before the track.

yes, actually the 1.8T can be stroked to 2.1 with a 95.5mm crank at the expense of revs. and also can be stroked to 2.2L with 100mm crank, but 034 tried that and went back down from there. my gearbox was designed to run the 1/4 mile thru 4th gear and turning ~8800-9k rpms when i cross the finish line. it is right there now, and i can turn up the boost in 4th gear if needed. another thing is i run the "small tire" of 24.5, and i can step up to a 26" tire next to see what that does.

i am about the revs, my setup is built to run 10k rpm if i need to. i blew up a few motors pretty quickly chasing dyno numbers and 45 psi and stuff, so i backed way off and put the car into a "safer" tune range. and now that i finally got to give it some track time, slowly we will turn it up.

also, i am really pushing the off-the-shelf stroker kit offered by Integrated Engineering. i run the basic standard H-beam rods and not the bad boy Tuscans. i run billet mains but no girdle. the kind of stuff that most people would want to see the data on and see how it fares for them. not everyone will spend the money for the higher dollar parts. i do run the stronger rod bolts (learned that lesson 3rd motor) but the rest is just optioned out webpage orderable stuff.

this year look for >800 AWHP dynos and 8 second passes....

sweet, front page. THANKS for the exposure!!!!!

and the goals for this year are to lose ~200+ pounds off the car.
got a sequential shifter setup to try out
run 8.xx anything in the 1/4 mile
new Bell custom AWIC core, new piping
VW Corrado steering rack and column and more custom steering stuff
        floor mount race pedal setup
doing a new motor, same bottom end. bigger head bigger cams more power more rpm more boost.
did some tube frame work to the front end, doing fiberglass doors and all polycarbonate windows (doors and windows is 125 pounds by itself!)

this is how i started this winters changes, how it looked before i cut up the front end some more haha

        sequential shifter setup

i did some new wiring, this is one of the things i find truly fun to do.

i completely cut out the firewall and pushed it into the car interior some.

How are you going to do that?

i did the rear quarter windows in polycarb (Lexan). that was >10 lb.
just got another rear hatch, and gutted it and will do poly on it. that will be ~25 lb lost.

the fiberglass doors from Germany will save me 50 pounds or more.

i took the stock dash (empty bare shell) out and it weighed >21lb. made an aluminum plate that saved me >18 pounds right there.

creative cutting out of sheetmetal, trimming stuff that isnt needed, it is all adding up at this point.

basically i am now entering into the "5 pounds or more" mod-zone. anything that will save me that or more will be seriously looked into now.

my front motor mounts, for instance. they are made heavy-freakin-duty, that is how i do it. i made them out of 1/4" plate and square tube, etc. they weigh 12 lb 9 oz right now. my buddies that work at a machine shop are going to make them for me out of aluminum. save 70% or more weight? great, another 7-8 pounds off.

i havent barely started removing sound deadening material, seam sealer (its 3/8"+ in spots!) and undercoating. reading thru forums that has been documented in the 50-60 pounds range alone!

here was the hatch work these past couple days. and the weight savings. its fiberglass from the factory. cost on the hatch? $60.

Are you worried about this scratching easily or is it not a concern? Just wondering about the durability.
