• New W205 C-class to get dual clutch transmission plus 333 horsepower 3.0 liter V6 C400 model and 4Matic all wheel drive

Mercedes seems intent on upping their game across the board. The facelifted E63 is supposed to get a dual clutch transmission with 4Matic and it seems the W205 C-Class will be launching with a dual clutch transmission and have 4Matic models as well. It is unknown if all models will get the all wheel drive but Mercedes seems to be leaning toward embracing 4Matic with their new cars.

In addition to a new design and new safety Autobild reports the car will have a .25 coefficient of drag which would make it very slippery. This seems almost hard to believe. The US lineup will likely include a C250, C300, and a C400 model with a 333 horsepower 3.0 liter V6 likely direct injected and turbocharged. The C63 AMG hopefully will get the M157 AMG V8 as rumored although reports from Autobild show a 4.0 liter motor with 462 horses which does not make too much sense.

We'll find out the truth soon enough, here is the rumored lineup:

      C 180 1.6 l 156KS
      C 200 2.0 l 184KS
      C 250 2.0 l 211KS
      C 300 2.0 l 252KS
      C 400 3.0 l V6 333KS
      C 63 AMG 4.0 l 462KS
      C 220 CDI 2.2 l 170HP
      C 250 CDI 2.2 l 204KS
      C 300 CDI BlueTec Hybrid 2.2 l 231KS
      C 400 CDI 3.0 l 258KS

I think the 4.0L makes sense in the C class. This makes it easier for MB to differentiate the model lineup. If you want the premier twin turbo, then step up to the E, or so on. Besides, 462 hp will be good, especially if it has the 4 matic, it still is the C class after all. I think folks get hung up on displacement and have been spoiled to have the 6.3L in a relatively small car. Besides, think of the tuning options with the 4.0L, and I'm assuming that it's a twin turbo.

Let me just put it this way, to hell with that. Put the M157 in the C63 and watch Mercedes bend over and RAPE the competition.

They already set the precedent of giving it the same motor as the big boys. Don't go back to protecting egos now. I want to see them slap the new M3 upside the head and wake BMW up.

Sure, the M157 would be nice, I'm just thinking from MB's point of view. I don't think MB is going to take a step back....let's just see what plays out. I think they more than have the attention of BMW with the M157 already...

Your logic is sound I just want to see them completely annihilate everyone.

A C63 with an N/A V8 would be awesome, but of course the TTV8 would be even more epic. Mercedes has been on a serious roll these past few years and this C Class looks absolutely gorgeous so I hope they continue their streak.

Nice looking ride. Anyone doing a flash tune other than OE?
