    • Velos Designwerks stock and tuned W204 C63 Black Series dynojet dyno results - 462 wheel horsepower

Velos Designwerks continues to impress with their various tunes. Their BMW N63 tunes are opening eyes all over and now they are tackling the naturally aspirated Mercedes 63 AMG M156 platforms as well releasing tunes and a handheld flash at home solution. This C63 Black Series put down 422 wheel horsepower completely stock in STD correction. After the tune, 462 wheel horsepower STD for a gain of 40 horses at the wheels on the fairly high strung C63.

Compared to a standard C63 AMG on the same dyno the C63 Black Series puts out 60 more horses to the wheels. With a tune, the difference is 20 wheel horsepower favoring the Black Series. The reason why the Black Series will gain a bit more stock for stock is it has stronger internals from the Mercedes SLS and a revised exhaust system. A P31 optioned C63 with exhaust should be able to approach relatively similar numbers as the Black Series. Definitely nice to see how aggressive the Black Series motor is even in stock form compared to the standard C63.

Great looking car - love the wheels. So is this a tune only car ? I'd like to know what kind of power it gets from just a tune....

        Thanks guys,

Correct the car is tuned only.

Otherwise it has been lowered and with HRE's installed.

We made ~40 RWHP over stock; however, the conditions were not the greatest 100+ degree weather. Will post dyno chart soon.

40 whp is a heck of a gain for tune only on a motor that was thought to be near it's limit....

        Hey Sticky,

Well ~452 rwhp SAE corrected, we've been reprimanded for not posting SAE charts before.

We like to concentrate on the difference/gain and not just the figure. Although dyno's are used for comparison all around the world, the same car may dyno within a 10 horsepower range on different dyno's in the same city and conditions. We've tested this in the past for fun.

However, as mentioned whether SAE or STD the difference is the same and thats ~40 rwhp gain.

Also keep in mind the C63 Black Series engine is supposed to have a few technical updates to be closer to the SLS 63's engine as far as specs.

Just from the internals as far as I understand.

Pretty impressive to get gets on the C63 Black like this.

The gains are impressive to say the least. The numbers are high for the dyno conditions; especially the torque.

The torque is like 13 lbs/ft lower than a tune/ header graph on a dynojet I've seen.

Not trying to stir anything up, just scratching my head, that's all.

I missed the window to edit my first post... so I'll post here.

Nevermind about my initial skepticism re: rwtq. SAE would show lower numbers -- more in line with typical results -- given the ambient temps at the time of the dyno.

Even though ambient temp was really hot during the dyno, the CF should have adjusted for that.

40rwhp is serious stuff. Good job. With a full exhaust and a rematched tune this baby should hit 500rwhp.

My next sports car would be this. I just love how raw it is, its like a lambo but on a lower scale.
