  • USP Motorsports built APR Stage 3+ Jetta GLI 2.0TSI hits 426 wheel horsepower on race gas

USP Motorsports just keeps squeezing more and more power out of their APR Stage 3+ Jetta GLI build. A little over two weeks ago we posted about them hitting 403 wheel horsepower on 93 octane pump gas. Now on 100 octane race gas they were able to raise this number to a very impressive 426 wheel horsepower. The vehicle does have forged rods which is the only internal upgrade to handle the power.

A very, very impressive Jetta that will surprise a lot of unsuspecting people on the highway. Graph and video are below.

I try to stay on top of everything.

Why does the 100 have more lag?

      Thanks for the graphs btw.

good to hear, and you're welcome.

there actually isn't any more lag on the 100 tune. the only difference is that the 93oct run started at 3k rpm, and the 100oct run started at 3.3k rpm, which kind of throws of the graph readings a bit.

I really wish they could figure out fueling so you really put that head work to good use.

Patrick, are you going to V-Dub Fest at PBIR?

      This is all custom?

yeah. custom head work as well as custom tuning. quick update: car hit 446 whp and the fuel system is now maxxed out. :/ all i can do now is wait for a hpfp to come out, IF it ever does...or build a custom intake manifold with individual meth nozzles set-up on each runner to hold me over until more fueling solutions are released..only God knows when..

Ugh, no fuel upgrades for you guys huh? So the turbo has more room in it I take it? What do you think you would hit with no fuel limitations?

That turbo is almost maxed out. You can't get more than about 500whp from the 3071 with racegas. As Skully did in his 500whp pull. He's maxed out the APR stage 3+ injectors and HPFP AFAIK.

nothing! only injectors, but no pumps..There is still a little bit of room for improvement, but only so much. With no fuel limitations and a gt3071, i'd say close to 500-520whp, give or take..maybe a bit more with meth..it's hard to say exactly.

True. There was a rumor spreading that Dave's gti didn't really hit 500whp, and that the dyno sheet was flase. If that's true or not, I don't know. It is kind of sketchy though, specially being that he has gone ghost, and no other proof. I haven't even since the car since. They've kind of just dissappeared. But you're right..gt3071 will max out right around there, maybe a bit more depending on fueling. If I can't get any higher, maybe a gt3076? 57mm trim as compared to the 53mm trim of the 3071..good for 600whp, maybe even more on 100, and possibly meth. USP's fsi mk6 was running 600+whp on a motor with nothing but upgraded rods, stock head, and the gt3076..but obviously they had a hpfp and upgraded low pressure fuel pump..

Why can't you get this from them? FSI does not apply?

FSI has similar pumps, but they're still a bit different than TSI.

You really don't NEED a custom intake manifold, a few people are running direct port, JR (u20-t? I think his name is on mk6) is running DPI with his BT kit, but is making much less HP than you are.

A few Stage 2 guys are also running DPI with the stock intake manifold. Supposedly it's easy to drill/tap with it on the car and if you $#@! it up, the replacements are ~$180-200.

Granted a custom intake manifold may be able to flow a bit better, USRT said they had one in the works, not sure if it's a stock one with bung built in, or a custom manifold.

Talk to Haswell about setting up an 034 box for extra fuel. He ran a supplemental fuel system for a couple years. @RabbitPusher

Looks like he will basically have to do the same thing as N54 guys which is just supplement with meth.

You're right..I don't need one per say..but if I'm going to do it. I'd rather do it right..plus a custom IM would certainly offer better flow...and our plastic TSI manifolds are prone to breaking anyways..they always do..

I think I know who you're talking about..he is running four individual nozzles, one on each runner..yet he's still having trouble and making less power..not to mention he has a supposedly ported head with oversized valves..

That would be one of the options. But then again..meth can only do so much..and it has to be dialed in perfectly, which can become a pain, specially if switching from different programs..
