    • Renntech sets new World's Fastest M157 record running 10.7@130 in their 2012 CLS63 AMG

Renntech continues to keep raising the bar with the AMG M157 twin turbo V8. The first run in the 10's on this platform was a 10.9@129 earlier in January of this year. After that they were the first to break 130 miles per hour through the traps on the platform running 10.9@131 in March. This run sets a new quickest record at 10.79 although the trap speed record is still 131. In better conditions (this took place at PBIR in 85-90 degree weather 2000+ Density Altitude) we expect the trap record to fall fairly easily.

Modifications to the CLS are Renntech software, larger heat exchanger, upgraded intercooler pump, limited slip diff, downpipes, high flow cats, and drag radials. The car does not have any weight reduction and is still on the stock turbos as well as airbox which are the next changes coming.

Very impressive work as usual from Renntech.

Thats excellent. Corrects to 10.5. It would be great to see what would this beast do with bigger turbos

M157s are nasty... they should have put this into the new c63s. How do the e63s run with this motor?

The C will likely get a twin turbo V8 in the next generation. If they do, it will be a ballistic missile.

More like a hellfire but yeah, it will be sick. They will do it...only a matter of time. But I'm sure being an entry level model it will be majorly detuned and perhaps even a smaller motor but with turbos. But we've seen how easily any of these new FI motors can be tweaked. What impresses me more than these motors are the transmissions behind them.

I agree, it may be the smaller TT v8 but it's coming one way or another.

Damn, these guys upgraded a lot of parts on this car already. How much does this car weigh?

Thats all great. But tune and downpipes isn't enough to overtake a supercharged M156 running with Headers

        It's close honestly.

I'm just going by the numbers. I have seen and experienced supercharged M156's. The custom Stage 2+ setup Jim and Earl had would walk this but those are not reflective of standard Stage I + II's. I do not see how it is not close based on what I have seen.

since you havent seen the stage1+, then yo would agree that you might be mistaken?

Considering the Stage I is slower, no.

Of course Sirex agrees with you Click here to enlarge but who gives a $#@! ? See this is your problem....you are basing the things you say on NOTHING. Not firsthand experience, not what you have done, nothing. You just say what you THINK as if it's fact. Why is that so hard for you to understand ??? Sticky just said based on the numbers ON PAPER it would be a VERY close race. Do you have some other data that would support otherwise ???? And cars with this type of power are not as easy as just mashing the gas and winning a heads up race. Clearly as we have seen, your buddy Sirex can't even get into the 10's with his Stage 1. So what makes you think he, or you for that matter, could beat the car in question ??
