• New BMWUSA M commercial claims you can have your cake and eat it too, but are they right?

Sorry BMWUSA. We get what you are trying to sell us here but it did not really work as intended. Yes, we all understand the move to turbo motors in favor of fuel efficiency which you are attempting to convey does not come with a sacrifice (even though you have already told us it does). Why in the world is BMWUSA using the M3 GTS in this video when first of all, BMWUSA refuses to sell this car in the USA, and secondly, it uses the old high revving naturally aspirated formula M is moving away from supposedly in favor of Efficient Dynamics?

Did somebody at BMW not do their homework? We understand why M would want to show off the GTS as it is the best drivers car they have built since the E46 M3 CSL but it honestly does not make any sense with the tone of the video being about Efficient Dynamics and performance without sacrifice. The average person will likely see the video, how the GTS looks like it means business with its rear wing/aerodynamics, and not put together how funny it is that BMW is sending conflicting messages.

Oh BMW, you don't even believe what you are trying to sell us on yourselves. You say it's having your cake and eating it too? We say it is shameless marketing with a heck of an oversight.

And the new M5 has a gas guzzler tax, while the competition doesn't.

Great job with the efficient dynamics BMW...not.

        That commercial is complete BS.

BMWUSA sure knows how to piss their fans off.

Marketing Exec 1: "Hey, let's make a commercial to tell everyone about how Efficient and Dynamics we are?"

Marketing Exec 2: "Great idea! Let's use the M3 GTS as it looks sporty and cool."

Marketing Exec 1: "Great idea, people won't realize we don't sell it in the USA or that the car is the opposite of the direction we are now going."

Marketing Exec 2: "Hah, our fans are dumb who cares."

Oh and the one car in the ad that does get decent mpg, the 1M. You can't even buy anymore.

Honestly a complete fail on all accounts.

Too bad only the enthusiasts realize how wrong this ad is, most average people will think it's cool and thats who BMW is catering too.
