    • Vishnu Tuning sets a new N54 horsepower record with a dyno of 626 wheel provided by the Vishnu single turbo setup

      The N54 had been stuck in a bit of a rut. There were upgraded turbo options out there but these were relegated to small twins often utilizing the stock housing. A large single turbo simply was necessary to take it to the next level. All the previous attempts at large single turbos had been abandoned. Vishnu showed it is in fact possible and at 22.5 PSI with 94 octane fuel and meth broke the 600 wheel horsepower barrier with a very impressive run hitting 626 although the graph was uncorrected.

      How much further can the Vishnu single turbo kit go? Well, the single turbo is being run on the stock MAP sensor so 22.5 psi appears to be the current limit. Once this is bypassed it will be interesting to see how much further the fuel system and turbo can go. Congratulations for a major development for the platform and for it to finally get the push forward it was needing and deserving. We expect Horsepower Freaks to have a very similar offering based on this same Vishnu tuning solution.

        Have they said what size and % meth they r using?
        Iirc he said 1200cc/min and 70/30 meth water.

        i thought i remember him sayng he was trying/doing a multi nozzle approach, something like 1 pre fmic, and 2 post fmic? like an m5 pre and m10's post?

        I remember him saying that too, but he said he's just using regular pwm meth kit

        sry no videos so far. as soon as i get a hold of a goPro or similar product, i will give you all the flame under load you want LM. in addition to aural pleasure in a garage of turbo de-spool noises. i really need one if im going to make a video of a mile run in the future. or for track days. my piggybank is getting low so i'm saving. first on the list tho is to split a vbox with my 5.0 buddy. figure you all are way more interested in real world results than video of noises or flame, i mean i've seen stock turbos shoot flame, it's really nothing new. in fact its a bad thing in the sense that it wouldn't happen if the meth could stop abruptly on throttle lift. at least if my theory is sound.

        will do. i have a bunch of nice cars lined up. a buddy of mine, his dad is well, lets say loaded... he buys tons of cars and his son (my friend) gets to drive them occasionally. few cars off the list that i've ridden in myself: Roush stage 3 'stang (not 5.0 motor, one model previous, the 4.6), evo 9 with a built head and big turbo, c63 coupe... etc should be fun. expect this to happen in either spring or summer, bearing he is here and available as well. as for the vbox i'm working on it Click here to enlarge

        This turbo kit is awesome, but I thought Shiv had outgrown the "bashing other tuners" stage. Maybe if Jeff@topgearsolutions would stop sucking him off he would stop.

        Yea, at 6k rpms, we are talking about 3 cylinders firing every 20 milliseconds. If the fail safe senses and sends a signal to the piggy the instance meth stops, then the time it takes the last of the meth that was spayed to travel from the charge pipe to the cylinder will be moving slower than the electronic signal. Therefore, the ecu (maybe not the wastegate as it would need to both receive the electronic signal and physically open) would get the signal and adjust timing before even the last of the meth was used. It would all really hang on how fast the failsafe knew meth wasnt spraying. As long as its quicker than the time it takes for air to travel from the point of meth injection to the cylinder, it would never be an issue.

        Repped. I brought this up on e90 and was mocked. Signal period is never discussed...

        yea. I dont know very much about how the signals are passed along and how fast the system can react. All we really can fall back on to is historical results. Meth failing can blow engines, but meth with failsafes have keep these engines running strong and happy for hundreds of thousands of miles. For me, its just talk as I would prefer to run a pump set up. I dont trust two source of fuel/octane. I want big pump numbers and a nice low rpm tq curve.

        I had my hopes set so high for the single turbo n54, but shiv's attitude and blatant lies just ruined it for me. I cant believe bimmerpost protects that guy like he is a freaken saint. Seeing dzenno ask legitimate questions on bimmerpost and have all his post deleted because shiv cries like a b*tch is just ridiculous. I'm glad bimmerboost exist tbh.

        I've actually given him more praise over the last few weeks than ever before...Obviously everyone like myself has questions and given his past comments many of which were just plain lies I feel like I have every right to ask questions...the issue with him is he, in the 4 years I've known the guy, could ever carry a discussion like an adult and acknowledge shortcomings...i'm talking seriously never...however, he will happily acknowledge them as soon as he's worked out a fix for them and released a new board, a new meth kit, etc etc etc it just goes on and on, people just eat up his posts as he's the first to innovate on this platform, and that's the only part I truly respect about him...

        i was banned for critiquing and asking questions as I didn't realize where conversations can go with him and some of the members on that board...i'm actually glad the moderator has deleted the posts out of that thread as it really was just JUNK which I didn't call for...it all started with me asking him about some timing retard at the top of the run and if he was planning to add logging of the other 5 cylinders on the car to have a more complete picture of his tuning profile as he pushes the limits...

        I've realized now that every single time I even remotely HINT at the procede not having or not doing or whatever, merely asking a question these days or even giving respect, he will immediately arrogantly reply starting nothing but a vicious cycle of stupid senseless $#@! on that forum when ALL he could've done is answered my damn question politely

        I'm not interested in buying his kit or what he can/can't do with the procede, couldn't care less and would never spend a dime on his products just because of his personality...to some that doesn't matter, to me it matters that anyone i'm supporting financially by buying their products is always honest with me and up to some gentlemanly standards...the reason I even post on there is I enjoy others in the community, to learn about this motor's limits, and how far it can be pushed and given those results is the reason i'm personally still with this car today
