    • HRE introduces the Vintage Series, classic wheel designs re-imagined with modern technology - Pictures and specifications

Now this is ridiculously cool. We have to wonder why it did not happen sooner. HRE is taking classic wheel designs and giving them a modern refresh with new materials and build process. The final result is well, stunning. There are three designs currently available. The 454 which many will recognize as a classic Italian Lamborghini influenced design. The 505 is a thick 5 spoke design which is clearly Ferrari influenced. Then the German BBS influenced 501 mesh lace style wheel. HRE, much respect.

wow, they look stunning. 458 should have come with those in the first place.
I would like to see a Fuchs styled too.

        I don't like them.
Too retro, and/or too closed for my liking.
Maybe if you owned a Lambo or Ferrari these would look great, but then you would already have them original, wouldn't you...

I've seen similar rims on a E30 323 in the past. I believe some DTM cars ran those at the days. Looks good on those cars, but is a $#@! to ceep clean.
I know, because the very first Alu wheels I owned were like the 501, long time ago.

Those rims are BBS E30's, the hard part is if you google BBS E30 all you will get is a BMW E30 with a BBS wheels.

Although I'm not a fan of the new line, I do give credit to HRE for making the line. From what I know, HRE seems to be doing quite well with the line already.

I was hoping these would be similar to the basketweaves like I have on my E30 (not my car below, but same wheels)

The pattern is different on the HRE though. The centers are filled in - probably because the originals were 15" and these new ones are 19" or larger.

It's too bad - I would have totally rocked these in gold on my AW E92. Click here to enlarge
