    • Renntech raises the M157 tuning bar even higher setting a new record by running 11.2@126 in a C218 CLS63 AMG

Congratulations yet again to Renntech. Not too long ago a Renntech tuned CLS 63 AMG ran 11.3@125 which stood for almost 2 months as the M157 record. The record is now 11.2@126 with a run in negative density altitude at Palm Beach International Raceway. The vehicle was listed as running on slicks and we do not know the fuel but assume race gas. Regardless, well done. 10's are right around the corner for this platform which is just barely getting warmed up.

Mustang must have wondered what the hell happened, that was awesome.

Agreed... if that happens, it'll be terrific.

Since this was already negative DA, and turbo motors don't really respond as much to DA fluctuation, getting another quarter-second out of it without any further mods might be tough... at least, not a slam-dunk certainty. Look at the results already... going from so-so weather, to pretty decent (negative DA) weather, only picked up 1 tenth. And assuming it was SGC piloting it, there's not much "driver-mod" to be gained - he's proven to be one of the quickest/fastest experienced MB drivers around.

OT, but to me this makes the 997.2TT(and S) w/ PDK even more impressive, to be able to do 10's literally bone showroom stock is crazy. These suckers weigh a lot more, but still, impressive.

I haven't followed it very closely, but that sounds too soon, to me. The w204 just got a pretty major facelift (minor exterior, major interior). I expect it'll be around for more than one model year before the w205 hits.

It isn't a slam dunk but it is within reason.

A possibility is the coupe is around longer than the sedan.
