• Buckhead Imports Performance Stage 2 RMS supercharged E39 M5 goes 11.7@122 in the 1/4 mile - Dynos 525 wheel horsepower

Very nice results for this RMS Stage 2 supercharged E39 M5 that belongs to Buckhead Imports Performance. The vehicle dyno'd an impressive 535 wheel horsepower on a Dyno Dynamics and ran the 1/4 mile in 11.7@122. We must say it is very nice to finally see some positive results with RMS built/tuned hardware on the E39 M5. This supercharger kit will eventually be on sale to the public and we will bring you more details then as this is a promising start. Enjoy the pictures and video below.

We have not done any flow testing on this manifold yet. We are still compiling all the data and we will publish it soon. I do know that the manifold will not be the limiting factor of this kit. We have an M5 here running a V7 YSi at full capacity and the only limiting factor right now is the blower.

I do think the S62 engine bay can handle a much larger blower. We have also been looking into procharger for higher HP SC setups. The step up ratio on their F1-C blower is fantastic.
Maybe trade in mine for for a Procharger?

As Chris mentioned, RMS first made their kit for the E39 M5, and now are starting on the M62. To save money on my part, I choose to wait for the M62 kit vs a complete custom one off like my friend's 730 rwhp E39 M5. I just did not know how long it would take to get around to the M62. No complaints though, just getting worried by the time they get to my car, my adult diapers will need a larger size.Click here to enlarge

First started out as a D/A car, then Rebello had to rebuild the engine and now RMS has done the aftercooler/intake mani with a lot of other goodies also.

Why did the engine need to be rebuilt? Who is the friend?

We already talked about his E39 M5 that has been at RMS. Sorry, but he is EXTREMELY private and I respect his wishes. Please check your PM Sticky.

Rms needs to make a twin screw kit for the e39 m5. I know its an ancient car the by standards of some, but that will force me to buy 1.

Seen this on M5board and been impressed.

What gear was that dyno tested in?

        I am assuming 4th?

Not sure on what gear but I would assume 4th.

4th is what we tested on with the RK/evolve kit without any cooling and just 6.25 PSi and achieved 485hp.

So... this 535hp in 4th assuming no silly correction factors is very impressive.

The cooling will be helping a huge amount as we showed in our tests.

We ran 467whp in 4th with just 3.8 PSi!

So 535 cooled looks very realistic and well done.

What kind of tuning. Are you guys using alpha N?

With the M5s I think so. with my OBD1 5.0L M62, I will be using the Miller War Chip- 4 possible tunes with a switch on the fly. Chris PLEASE pm me once in awhile with updates. But, I do have to say Dax (Dex?) is awesome!

Yea I don't like the alpha N stuff since it seems like the maf doesn't have anything to do with correcting changes like in something like a miller tune. Miller is doing awesome stuff.
