• Automotive Connoisseur Group (ACG) C63 AMG Stage 2 Weistec Supercharged build hits 630 wheel horsepower

This is the car that has been getting a lot of attention due to the owners erratic behavior. A fauly crank position sensor caused some issues but that has since been resolved. The vehicle put down an eye opening 630 whp and the owner describes it as being 'too powerful' as if there was such a thing. This build just goes to show having some trust in reputable vendors and tuners to resolve issues goes a long way as does a bit of patience/class. Well done Weistec and ACG!

I never said anything about a CLK BS...I simply stated my opinion of the 996 platform.

You missed his point entirely. Reread the specific part he bolded... see if you get it.

I didn't miss anything and you're clearly upset at my post since you just picked up a 996TT. Relax man, it's a nice car and I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I just think if you want to go fast there are better and cheaper options.

Oh, and when the 991 comes out... it'll be two models old (991 current, 997 one removed, 996 two removed).

Got to drive a local indy shop owner's pristine 997 GT3, and it was (and is) a wonderful machine... would be honored to own one someday.

So, the only thing in your post I actually agree with, is your comment about the 993 Turbo S. Those are timeless classics, and they have soared in value in recent years. Would be a feather in the cap of most any enthusiast's garage.
Have you worked on the 996 yet ? Have you even changed the oil ? I've done oil changes, pulled motors, head work, transmissions pulled, suspension work, AC work, electrical etc on 964's, 993's, 996's and 997's - street cars and cup cars. And I can tell you without a doubt that while you may feel the build quality is good for a 10 year old car...it is the worst out of all four aforementioned iterations of the 911. You may not agree with me, and that's fine - but I've spent a lot of time under 911's and I think I know what I'm talking about in this particular regard.
        Hope you enjoy your purchase.

LZH, yes I suppose I took exception to your comment. I do enjoy it, and do feel (quite subjective, to be certain) that it's a nice car. Yes, there are cheaper options if you just want something fast... the domestic and Japanese markets seem to have that cornered pretty successfully vis--vis their Euro counterparts. Better options? Maybe... that's up to each to determine. But it seems you've softened your tone from earlier (which is what I disagreed with):

And with the new 911 coming out soon it'll be three models old. Personally I wouldn't drive a another Porsche if you paid me. The way they treat their customers is deplorable and their build quality has only gone downhill since the 993. I should have never sold my 993 Turbo S - makes me sick just thinking about it.
Most everyone seems to rave about the 997.2 911s, including 997.2TTs, 997.2 GT3s (standard and RS... with RS 4.0 being top dog) and the GT2 RS. Haven't read any account that states they're inferior build quality to a 993, as you claimed. You certainly wouldn't have to pay me to drive one. And, to date, my local dealership (Don Rosen Porsche) has been very nice to do business with... and I didn't buy the car from them (only servicing so far).

No, I bought a Porsche CPO'd car... so the dealership is servicing it as needed - I'll start doing some work (or shop it out to my German specialist indy) next year when CPO runs out.

I've spent time in 964s, 996s, and 997s - but not nearly to the same extent you have. Yes, the 996 is probably accepted as worst of that grouping. From my own first-hand experience, 997 GT3 is probably the most fun, followed by a 964 RSA. I will say, though, that this car has nice build touches befitting a $150k car in 2002... full leather interior (dash, pillars, etc), deviated stitching, some tasteful factory CF accents, suede(alacantra) headliner, etc. Pretty stout performance too... and a pretty simple flash/wastegate/exhaust upgrade gets it to around 480-500 whp and 550 wtq... looking forward to that next year. Would I rather have a 997TT or GT3? Undoubtedly... but that wasn't in the budget at this point. Would I rather have a CLK63BS, if I had to keep it? Tough call... but probably not - not because it's not a fantastic machine (it certainly is), but I would prefer to have a manual option in the garage to take out for drives when the mood strikes me, instead of three slushbox'd cars.

Anyway, thanks for clarifying your post. Take care and enjoy your weekend.

You did miss my point. According to your comment, we shouldn't get expensive cars; all we have to do is buying cheap cars which can make the same WHP as expensive cars but with half money. and you know there is always a car which makes same WHP as your car however the money spent on that car is less yours.

I respect your opinion about 996 platform sir, but everyone can drive anything they want and mod it.
