    • Another low 11 second Rob Beck turbo upgraded N54, OldBooster runs 11.3@123 in his E82 135i

      Well, the low 11 second runs keep coming from upgraded turbo N54's which means 10's are just around the corner. First, congratulations to OldBooster who did this run on the upgraged turbo only, no nitrous. It is also important to note that this run was done in pretty poor conditions as it was hot out. Track temps were around 110 and humidity was 90+. Mods on the car are a dual CM10 meth setup, JB4 running map 6, drag radials, and of course the Rob Beck upgraded turbos. Will be great to see what happens in cooler weather.

        thats nice, esp with how hot it is. Good trap speed too, these RB turbo's are doing nicely.

        20-21 psi he mentioned. also worthy of note,1. he was had full interior on that run. 2. he ran his best (11.15@124) on N20 stock turbo a while back, and maybe even with weight reduction. so the RBs are showing to be a real contender against the guys running N20. im curious to see what he does with both

        How much psi is the max rating for these turbos? 25?

        about there yea, but i dont have a comp. map, just going by similar designed turbo's

        I'm sure he does. but running a small turbo over 20 psi is really risky. Unless it's like a billet wheel then i would go as far as like 30. but nothing more than that. The wastegate actuator can be a limiting factor in the boost too.

        i dont think he had time to test as they went straight on his car, came off, and straight on mine. whats a map for say TD04 turbo's? isnt that right about 25 psi? no need to worry abot WG with the RB's they have been upgraded. If actuator is needed, the Forge has a solution, but I havent gotten that far yet to see if we need them

        the TD04 map does not apply to these turbos, the compressors are different. You cant even use the compressor maps that come with the new compressors because they are in a different housing and that affects compressor performance. You might be able to squeeze by and make some assumptions using the maps of the new wheels, but you gotta find out what compressor it is first.

        I can try and look into it with my busy schedule. But Rob would probably be the best guy to answer this as he chose the compressors. I can only do so much with a map and a volute of custom origin.

        Very nice from OB here. I wish they would announce the power plant for the upcoming M3 such that I can decide on wether I am keeping my 135 and invest in some RBs.

        Get the RB's! unless if you get the m3 and you know you're going to add a blower to it. The RB's is a much cheaper choice for almost similar power.
