Well, that was fast. Techart already has their Type I Aero Kit for the 991 available for purchase but the full reveal will not be until Geneva. For now, we just get teased. Techart Formula III lightweight wheels are available in 20 and 21 inch sizes for the 991. Techat has their exhaust available as well with either overlapping tips or dual round tips. Expect much more to come for the 991 shortly and especially when the Geneva show rolls around. ...

Porsche is returning to the big boy class in Le Mans to challenge for the overall victory with an LMP-1 effort. For those unfamiliar, Porsche is the winningest manufacturer in LeMans history with 16 overall 24 Hours of Le Mans wins. This video from Porsche is a reminder as to just how great they have been in competitive racing at Le Mans. Oh, and a piece of trivia, Le Mans is the reason Porsches have their ignition on the left of the steering wheel and not the right. Seems fitting for Porsche to compete for the overall prize. ...

Now what is wrong with this picture? We have four very fast sports sedans here. All of them have forced induction except for 1. All of them are the most powerful available from the respective manufacturer except for one. Which one is at a disadvantage? The Porsche Panamera S which does not have turbos or a supercharger and is outgunned by the 3 models in the Panamera lineup: the Panamera GTS, Panamara Turbo, and Panamera Turbo S. ...

The 993 is still argued for today as possibly the greatest 911 generation ever produced. Hard to disagree when you consider it had the last air cooled motor and classic Porsche lines that seem timeless. The GT2 possibly being the greatest example. Porsche fans would seem to agree as they requested on Porsche's facebook page to hear what the motor in the 993 GT2 sounds like. Porsche obliged and provided this awesome video below highlighting the motor sounds, check it out. ...

Nobody should be shocked that a new GT3 is on the way from Porsche with the next generation 991. The vehicle was spotted testing and will have the center exit exhaust we have all grown to love. The real question is what will be done to the motor? Will the 991 GT3 simply pick up from where the 997 GT3 RS 4.0 left off? We expect no less than 4.0 liter flat-6 with 500 horsepower based on the GT1 racing block. We do not see Porsche taking a step backward and they have set the bar very high with the 4.0 GT3 RS. A PDK is hopefully in the cards as well. ...

Some good news from Porsche. Autonews confirmed with the Porsche America CEO that the vehicle would come in the second half of 2012. This will be the first time a diesel motor was ever sold by Porsche in North America. The diesel is expected to sell as well as the hybrid but we predict it will do better than the hybrid model. If it does do well, expect a Porsche Panamera Diesel to be sold in the USA as well although there are no plans for that as of right now. ...

This is a very well done concept and we kind of wish it was the real thing. Students at the Institut Superieur de Design in France put this video together of their take on a future Porsche. They see the future Porsche sports car as having a carbon fiber body, mid engine, and turbine power. There is a bit of the Porsche 918 influencing this as well as the Jaguar C-X75. Very well done by the students overall. ...

The Panamera Turbo is a great sedan. Difficult to improve on but Porsche has managed to do exactly that with the Panamera Turbo S. It has another 50 horsepower over the standard turbo as well as another 74 pound-feet of torque in overboost mode. This extra power coming from larger turbochargers with titanium wheels that Porsche says spool faster. Maximum boost pressure is 13.5 psi for the S versus 12.1 for the standard turbo. This results in an 11.8@118 in the 1/4 mile with 0-60 in 3.5 seconds. ...

Porsche Design does some very cool things. They seem to do just about everything from bars, to water-pipes, to now buildings. This 57 story Porsche Design Tower condo complex will feature an elevator system that does not force one to leave their car until they literally are inside their home. No pricing information has been released but this development will likely be an attractive to car guys who no longer will have to wonder if anyone is dinging up their car in the parking garage. ...

Gemballa seems to be set on making a comeback despite company founder Uwe Gemballa being murdered earlier this year. Like it or not, Gemballa is a major name in tuning and investors want to continue to use it. Case and point, the new 2011 Gemballa Tornado based on the 958 Cayenne Turbo. The black body panels you see are carbon fiber. The Tornado package consists of those panels plus a new front bumper with LED's, side skirts, rear exhaust with matching diffuser/bumper, hood, spoiler, rear lights, and wheels. Power output is claimed to be in between 675-700 but there is nothing to support this claim. Only 30 Tornados will be made with a price no doubt fit for a Sheikh. ...

Here are the first performance numbers for the brand new 991 Carrera S. The car has a 394 horsepower 3.8 liter flat 6. The vehicle tested had the 7 speed manual transmission and put up a very respectable 12.7@113. This puts it just slightly ahead of an E92 M3 even with DCT. We expect a PDK version of the 997 Carrera S to run mid to low 12's at around 115 mph meaning in a straightline the vehicle should be just as capable as a standard 996 generation turbo. Impressive? Absolutely. ...

We were not expecting Porsche to reveal the cabrio versions this fast. The Carrera and Carrera S cabrios share their coupe siblings underpinnings which means they have the same transmission and motor options. The main difference is the folding soft top which we are glad Porsche chose to keep weight down. Set to go on sale in the spring of 2012, the 911 Carrera Cabriolet MSRP is $97,300, while the 911 Carrera S Cabriolet MSRP begins at $108,000. ...

Most of our Southern California members are familiar with the 110 and 405 freeway junction. Porsche is set to open a driving experience center in that area that will be one of 5 in the world and only the second in North America (the other under development in Atlanta, Georgia). The idea is to offer a massive test track on an area of about 53 acres where customers and potential customers can experience what a Porsche vehicle is truly capable of. There will also be off-road areas to test out the abilities of a Cayenne off the payment. We can not wait for the grand opening in 2013 which we will be sure to attend. ...

The new 911 Carrera S is a very impressive vehicle. It is not far off the pace of the 997 GT3 which is incredible in of itself. The vehicle tested had PDK, PCCB brakes, and PASM with the -20mm suspension option. What is very telling is the numbers around the tight Hockenheim circuit which match a 997.2 GT3 with a 1:10.4 laptime. Around the ring Sport Auto tested it at 7:44 which is as fast as they tested an R8 V10, Pagani Zonda S, and it is faster than the 996 GT2. Impressive? You bet. ...

We are not big fans of hybrids. We do not like the Prius. We do not like Prius owners. We like cars that make the ground shake, tires smoke, and scare the elderly as well as small children. Porsche however has managed to make a car that can do all that previously mentioned while being eco friendly and badass at the same time. Introducing The Porsche 911 GT3 R Hybrid 2.0 sporting an awesome 672 horsepower.
