The Cayenne has been a great success for Porsche despite what people may think of the idea of a Porsche SUV. The 958 generation, the second generation Cayenne, evolved the formula to a lighter more road focused SUV. Range Rover has historically been a very off road capable SUV but like the Cayenne is also evolving namely with the Range Rover Sport into a performance sporty utility for the street. The question is, which SUV is more capable in which environment? Do these SUV's still offer strong off road performance? ...Published on 07-19-2013 02:55 AM
Here are dyno results on a Mustang dyno of the Agency Power carbon fiber y-pipe intake for the Porsche Panamera Turbo. The stock plastic piping is 78mm at the throttle body inlet but goes down to a much more restrictive 51mm diameter at the y-split. This is a significant point of restriction in the stock intake system. The Agency Power carbon y-pipe features a three inch pipe diameter all the way to the factory end piece connection to the intercoolers. ...Published on 07-17-2013 10:24 PM
Perfect comparison for the summer between two drop top Germans that can be considered siblings as Audi and Porsche both fall under the Volkswagen halo today. There are key differences between them as the R8 is all wheel drive with a mid-engine 4.2 liter V8 and the Porsche 911 Carrera S has a rear engine 3.8 liter flat-6 driving the rear wheels. Automotive timelapse videos are badass as they cram hours upon hours of work into minutes showing the quick evolution of a long project. This just happens to be one of the most well made automotive timelapse videos ever crafted. The engine you see is a classic aircooled Porsche 3.2 flat-6 motor. Sounds simple right? Well, after seeing how many components go into this motor one can not help but have respect for how much effort goes into a complete motor tear down. ...Published on 07-15-2013 10:10 PM
Here is a video comparison from Auto Express pitting the new 981 Cayman S with PDK against the Lotus Evora S. Auto Express comparos are usually devoid of much useful data or insight so it is nice to see them at least get laptimes for these two cars. These two vehicles both have mid-engine six cylinder power plants and send their power to the rear wheels. The Lotus however features a supercharged 3.5 liter V6 with 350 horsepower versus the Cayman S naturally aspirated 3.4 liter flat-6 with 325 horsepower. ...Published on 07-12-2013 10:20 PM
Hell of a street race here between a 911 Turbo and a Mustang. It's a street race that was negotiated for $5k and somehow the racers and spectators manage to essentially shut down a public street for the run. On one side you have a 2012 Porsche 997.2 Turbo running E85 and said to be built. That likely means built motor and upgraded turbos. On the other side you have a Foxbody Mustang said to be naturally aspirated with 331 cubes. ...
