    • Latest spy photos of the upcoming F30 BMW 335i

The latest set of spyphotos were released and the web is in a tizzy over BMW revealing a little more of the F30 3 series design. These are the best spy pictures thus far and give you an idea of the proportions as well as the front and rear light design. Nothing ground breaking although the car does seem to be a bit large, you might guess 5 series if you did not know it was a 3. Expect the 335 to have N55 6 cylinder turbo based power.

Funny that they even taped off the BMW emblem on the wheels. As if it could be anything different then a BMW.

I think it looks pretty good so far. It looks a lot more sportier than the E90. I love how the Angel eyes are squared off on the top and bottom, the darkline tail lights, and the narrower, wider front grills. Now, bring on the coupe and M3.

BMW is shying away from controversial styling, playing it very conservative now.

So in this body BMW is gonna put a 3 cylinder engine for the power up to 200HP.
Also, when the M3 ports to this body, it will no longer be a NA engine, but will also be biturbo to increase the torque and lower the fuel consumption. Target power is said to be 420HP.
So, everyone with an M3, enjoy the possibility to FI your car aftermarket, from 2012 on it will come FI off factory, giving everyone a lot less room to play with.

420 clydesdales is the current M3 output... I would hope they would increase this for a new series - especially considering they are going FI, otherwise I don't understand their move.

I would think having boost online straight from the factory allows you more room to play with. Look at the JB stage 3 1/335s - they are making close to (if not) 400 - which is WAY above 300 from the factory. I personally love the high-rev/NA/moderate-yet-perfect-torque-curve-concept of the past M series; I know adding a turbo will add tons of torque down low (and power up high), but it will never be the same as a 8000+ RPM NA screamer - even IF it is faster/more powerful.

I finally bought a new M3 btw, have been trying to get around to do a comparison (from the e46) - but haven't had the time, also not sure if anyone cares. Click here to enlarge

Finally got around to getting some pics off my camera... Sorry for the small size - wasn't sure what the site would accept. I will throw them on Flickr or something if anyone wants. I picked in up from the east coast - it's a 2009 DCT/DSG M3 sedan, Interlagos Blue, every option except distance control (didn't understand why this was until i learned about the drilled holes, negative aesthetic value, etc.) and no 19" rims. Wearing 18" PS2 rubber - car is 100% stock.

Looking for some more power (NA), just not sure what to get. If anyone has ideas (thinking exhaust/intake) - and has had good experiences, would love to hear about it/them... Really not looking to void the warranty - so would prefer to stick with bolt-ons that won't require an ECU remap. Again, if anyone has ideas, please let me know.

        Cheers.

100% stock except for the kidney grills and the tint... not sure if that really counts though. Click here to enlarge
